A scrubbing article including a substrate and a texture layer. The texture layer is formed on at least one surface of the substrate, and is a solvent-free texture layer. The texture layer can include a plastisol ink or a hot melt adhesive, and may further include a plurality of ceramic microspheres. Methods of manufacture are also provided in which a solvent-free texture layer composition is applied to a substrate and then solidified to form a texture layer. In some non-limiting embodiments, the texture layer composition includes a hot melt adhesive and is applied to the substrate in the form of a wetted cellulose sponge.

The stain release coating is applied to the substrate and is present over a at least a major surface of the substrate, and the texture layer is formed over the stain release coating opposite the substrate. The overlay can further include a graphic, such that the graphic is buried with respect to the front surface of the overlay. A method of making the retroreflective article can include applying a graphic to the rear surface of the overlay, and coupling the overlay bearing the graphic to the front surface of a substrate, such as the optical layer.

An organosol comprising a high molecular weight (co)polymeric steric stabilizer covalently bonded to an insoluble, high molecular weight thermoplastic (co)polymeric core is described which has the ability to form a three dimensional gel of controlled rigidity. The gel provides improved liquid ink or liquid electrophotographic/electrographic toner compositions by increasing sedimentation stability of the colorant, without compromising print quality or ink transfer performance. The gel is formed by manipulating the solubility parameter difference between the stabilizer and the solvent to achieve optimum performance of the dispersion.
