A hydraulic coupling employing a polymeric elastomeric sealing member to provide an excellent seal under pressure. The polymeric elastomeric seal additionally has high resistance to acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, ketones, ethers, esters, alcohols and salt solutions. The sealing member has the elasticity to return to its normal physical condition after pressure is removed.

Hydraulic coupling

A pressure locking dispenser half which securely locks with a receptacle half which comprises a connector, a barrel sleeve, and a moveable adaptor. The connector includes first and second passageways. The first passageway of the connector further includes a first port and the second passageway includes a second port, a first seal and a second seal residing between the connector and the adaptor. The adaptor engages the barrel sleeve. The barrel and adaptor include a vent passageway. A spacer resides between the first and second seals maintaining separation of the first and second seals. The moveable adaptor positions the first and second seals in one of a plurality of positions with respect to the connector. A dispenser valve 12 acts in combination with a retainer, a sliding sleeve, and a locking sleeve to pressure lock the dispenser half and the receptacle half together under certain circumstances. Certain positions of the adaptor allow the venting of the dispenser half and the receptacle half.

Pressure locking dispenser half

A sanitary coupling comprising a coupler member and a nipple member. The coupler member and the nipple member have first and second passageways including first and second transverse ports and first and second longitudinal bores such that, when engaged, fluid and/or fluid and solids may flow unobstructed through the coupler and nipple members. Means for orienting the coupler member with respect to the nipple member provide alignment of said passageways of said nipple and coupler members with respect to each other for full, unobstructed flow.

Sanitary coupling

In a coupling including female and male coupler means for longitudinally coupling and uncoupling to provide a longitudinal fluid passage therethrough, the passage having at least one check member disposed in the through passage, which check member is moved from the blocked and unblocked positions by the uncoupling and coupling of the couplers, a valve member being resiliently biased to a blocked position and having a gasket, sealing member to seal against fluid loss, the improvement comprising a gasket support comprising concentric sleeves which define a variable channel for holding the sealing member and which move independently of each other and where when the check member is in the blocked and unblocked positions the gasket member is subjected to axial compression and into a sealing relationship and when the check member in between the blocked and unblocked positions the axial compression is relieved.
