Aspects discussed herein are directed to ergonomic pointing device systems. In one example, a pointing device system includes an elongate base member, a sleeve disposed to fit over at least a portion of the elongate base member, the sleeve configured to rotate about the elongate base member in a first direction and slide about the elongate base member in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction, where the sleeve includes a pattern on a surface thereof, and a sensor disposed within the elongate base member and positioned to detect at least one of a rotational movement of the sleeve relative to the sensor and an axial movement of the sleeve relative to the sensor based at least in part on a variation of the pattern within a field of view of the sensor.

An adjustable mouse includes a base portion including a flat bottom configured to rest on a flat surface and a curved top, a palm rest portion including a body configured to be contoured to fit a user's hand and a curved bottom that is configured to mate with the curved top of the base portion, and a mechanism configured to secure the palm rest portion to the base portion at a desired angle of tilt. The adjustable mouse further includes a thumb adjustment assembly coupled to the base portion. The thumb adjustment assembly is configured to move a thumb rest portion between a retracted position and an extended position.

Mobile device case

A mobile device case is disclosed. The mobile device case includes a body portion and a bottom portion. One portion includes a gasket configured to sealingly contact both the body portion and the bottom portion. The body portion and the bottom portion include mating curved surfaces. The gasket is a curved gasket that mates with the curved surfaces of the body portion and the bottom portion. The body portion and the bottom portion include a connection arrangement configured to releasably connect the body portion to the bottom portion. The connecting arrangement includes at least a first locking arrangement disposed in part on the first side of the body portion and the first side of the bottom portion.

Mobile device case for wet environments

An adjustable mouse includes a base and a thumb adjustment assembly coupled to the base. The thumb adjustment assembly is configured to move a thumb rest portion between a retracted position and an extended position. The adjustable mouse further may include a palm rest portion hingedly attached to the base by a hinge adjacent an outer edge of the base. The palm rest portion may have several fingers configured to expand in vertical and lateral directions. Embodiments of the adjustable mouse are further disclosed.

A pointing device () for controlling a computer user interface is presented. The pointing device has a housing () with a base part (). It also has an elongate support member () and an elongate cursor navigation member (), the cursor navigation member being movably arranged for rotation about the support member and translation along the support member, the cursor navigation member further being depressible with respect to the base part. A plurality of sensors () for detecting rotation, translation and depression of the cursor navigation member is provided, as is computer interface circuitry () for connection to a computer. A controller () is connected to the plurality of sensors, the controller being configured to cause transmission of data regarding rotation, translation and depression of the cursor navigation member to the computer through the computer interface circuitry. The plurality of sensors include contactless click sensors () for detecting deflection of the support member () caused when a user depresses the cursor navigation member. The controller is configured to monitor the outputs from the contactless click sensors to detect that the detected deflection exceeds a click operation threshold value, and in response determine that a mouse click operation is intended by the user's depression and cause transmission of data representing the mouse click operation to the computer through the computer interface circuitry. The controller has a click sensitivity adjustment mode for allowing the user to configure the click operation threshold value.

According to one aspect, embodiments herein provide a pointing device system including an elongate base member, a sleeve disposed to fit over a portion of the elongate base member, the sleeve configured to rotate about the elongate base member in a first direction and slide about the elongate base member in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction, a first support disposed at a first end of the elongate base member, a second support disposed at a distal second end of the elongate base member, and a plurality of support rails interposed between the first support and the second support, wherein the first support includes a first angular extension and the second support includes a second angular extension, the first angular extension and second angular extension configured to support depression of the elongate base member.

An inner-sensor based pointing device is presented. The pointing device includes a central housing having an aperture and a sleeve disposed surrounding a portion of the central housing. The sleeve is rotatable about the portion of the central housing and slideable along a portion of the central housing. The pointing device further includes a sensor disposed along a surface of the central housing. The sensor is capable of detecting rotational movement of the sleeve relative to the central housing and axial movement of the sleeve relative to the central housing. Additionally, the pointing device has a circuit in communication with the sensor, the circuit capable of transmitting data to a computer regarding the movement of the sleeve.

Methods and apparatus provide for an adjustable pointing device. The adjustable pointing device includes a base and an adjustable arm connecting a portion of the base with an input control portion. The input control portion includes at least one input control. A first end of the adjustable arm, which is distal from the base, allows for and independently maintains changes to various orientations of the input control portion. In other words, after the user adjusts the input control portion to be set at a new orientation, the first end of the adjustable arm maintains the input control portion at the new orientation as the user interacts with the adjustable pointing device. In addition, a second end of the adjustable arm, proximal to the base, also allows for and independently maintains changes in a distance between the input control portion and the base itself.

An inner-sensor based pointing device is presented. The pointing device includes a central housing having an aperture and a sleeve disposed surrounding a portion of the central housing, the sleeves rotatable about the portion of the central housing and slidable along a generally horizontal axis about the portion of the central housing. The pointing device further includes a sensor disposed in the central housing and aligned with the aperture, the sleeve positioned surrounding the sensor, wherein the sensor is capable of detecting rotational movement of the sleeve relative to the central housing and wherein the sensor is capable of detecting axial movement of the sleeve relative to the central housing. Additionally, the pointing device has a circuit in communication with the sensor, the circuit disposed within the central housing, the circuit capable of transmitting data to a computer regarding the movement of the sleeve.
