Metrics that characterize one or more computing devices are received. A value associated with a performance of the one or more computing devices based on the received metrics is determined. A first scheduling parameter based on the value is determined, wherein the first scheduling parameter is associated with a first discovery process that is associated with at least a portion of the one or more computing devices. Execution of the first discovery process is directed according to the first scheduling parameter.

Adaptive discovery process scheduling

In various embodiments, a process for providing a cloud service provider request retry framework includes obtaining a request retry indicator that is associated with a cloud service provider, wherein the request retry indicator indicates a retry criterion that is based on a number of allowable discovery requests within a period of time. The process includes providing a discovery request to the cloud service provider; receiving an error response based on the discovery request, wherein the error response indicates the discovery request is unsuccessful based at least on the discovery request not satisfying the retry criterion; and determining a wait time based at least on the error response and the request retry indicator. The process includes retrying the discovery request according to the wait time.

Cloud service provider request retry framework

A collection group of computer system attributes is identified, and a first digest value associated with the collection group is obtained. A second digest value associated with the collection group is determined by performing a discovery scan of the collection group, wherein the second digest value is based on discovered values of the computer system attributes. A determination is made that the first digest value is different from the second digest value and an indication is prepared that one or more attribute values of the collection group have changed from a previously collected data of the collection group. The indication and at least a subset of the discovered values of the computer system attributes are provided.

Efficient transfer of collected discovery data

Metrics that characterize one or more computing devices are received. A time value associated with a performance of the one or more computing devices based on the received metrics is determined. A first scheduling parameter based on the time value is determined, wherein the first scheduling parameter is associated with a first discovery process that is associated with at least a portion of the one or more computing devices. Execution of the first discovery process is executed according to the first scheduling parameter.

This disclosure is directed to a versioned script management (VSM) system that enables a client instance to implement versioned script management. A versioned scripts table includes one or more fields storing version information for each script. The version information tracks platform release information (e.g., family, patch, and/or hotfix release version information) of each script, while also tracking client-specific versions of these scripts that have been modified after release. The VSM system includes instructions to create a modified version of an existing script and to perform a platform release update of platform scripts without overwriting or changing the behavior of client-modified versions of these scripts. As such, the VSM system enables script modifications, as part of client customization and/or platform updates, while avoiding the possibility of introducing regressions as a result of these modifications.
