A method for managing multiple representational state transfer (REST) requests using a transaction management process coupled to a cluster of computer-executed server processes. The method receives a first request to start a transaction associated with a data access process coupled to a database. The method acquires a database connection in an open state and a unique transaction identifier for the transaction. The method receives a plurality of REST queries, each of the plurality of REST queries associated with a corresponding transaction identifier. The method determines that, for at least one of the plurality of REST queries, the corresponding transaction identifier does not match the unique transaction identifier and proxy the corresponding REST queries to a selected server process. The method receives a second request to end the transaction. In response to the second request, the method completes the transaction and change the database connection to a closed state.

Transaction management of multiple networked resources

A method for managing multiple REST requests of a browser or other client to resources in an atomic transaction using a transaction management process that is communicatively coupled to a cluster of computer-executed server processes. In one approach, the process is programmed for receiving from a browser process a request to start a transaction associated with a data access process; acquiring a database connection from the data access process and storing the database connection in an open state; receiving from the browser process REST queries for execution; forwarding the REST queries to the data access process, and forwarding responses from the data access process to the browser process; receiving a request from the browser process to end the transaction, and only in response to the second request, completing the transaction in communication with the data access process, and changing the database connection to a closed state. As the connection to the database remains open, multiple REST queries may be sent for updating multiple resources in a single transaction efficiently through the same data access process without occupying extra server processes.

A method and system for performing a transactional update of a plurality of values in a key-value store that includes a first writer starting a transaction, a second writer joining the transaction, the first writer and the second writer writing changes to the plurality of values in a temporary transaction area in a storage area, and after the first writer and the second writer complete writing the changes, moving the plurality of values from the temporary transaction area to a global area in the key-value store.

Method and system for performing transactional updates in a key-value store

A data processing method comprising using an application server computer, establishing a shared multi-tenant system in which tenant data that is associated with tenants is stored together in a real shared data store system; providing to a tenant computing device identifiers that identify virtual objects, wherein each of the virtual objects represents a data entity that is stored in the real shared data store system; receiving a SQL query from the tenant computing device that specifies a data operation on a first virtual object of the virtual objects; rewriting the SQL query by dynamically replacing the first virtual object with an identifier of a function; executing the function and the rewritten query without explicit metadata to generate a result set; sending the result set to the tenant computing device.

Transient virtual single tenant queries in a multi-tenant shared database system

A query engine residing on computer-readable media includes a library of data drivers and an intelligent dataset. Each data driver in the library is operable to execute a predefined database operation. The intelligent dataset is operable in response to a query request to identify from the library necessary data drivers to perform the request. The intelligent dataset is further operable to determine a necessary order of the necessary data drivers to perform the request, to generate a driver chain comprising the necessary data drivers in the necessary order, and to execute in order the data drivers in the driver chain.

Modular method and system for performing database queries

A multidimensional storage model includes a set of non-sparse entries for each of a plurality of dimensions. The non-sparse entries each identify an associated data value. A set of interdimensional links is provided for each non-sparse entry. The interdimensional links each identify an intersection between non-sparse entries in disparate dimensions and collectively identify all intersections between non-sparse entries in the dimensions.

A method for generating database queries includes storing a predefined query model for querying a database. An accessible portion of the predefined query model is displayed to a user upon request. User edits to the accessible portion of the predefined query model are received and used to generate a user-adapted query model. A query is then initiated based on the user-adapted query model.
