Methods, systems, and computer readable media related to generating a three-dimensional model of a target object. A first source image, of a plurality of source images of a target object, is analyzed to identify a first region of the first image, the first region having attributes meeting one or more pre-defined criteria. The first region is marked for exclusion from use in generating a three-dimensional model of the target object. The three-dimensional model of the target object is generated using the plurality of source images. The marked first region is excluded in the generation of the three-dimensional model.

Optimizing images for three-dimensional model construction

The disclosure provides for a system of markers and methods of using the system of markers to provide a precise scene scale reference for captured aerial images. Each of the markers may include one or more pairs of aligned collimated light emitters, where each pair of light emitters is configured to emit two light beams that converge at a known distance from the marker. When two or more markers are used, the system of markers may be aligned in a unique physical orientation to form a shape of known dimensions (e.g., a line, a triangle, or square) that provides an accurate scene scale reference for captured images.

A pixel projection component for projecting a multi-vantage point light-field includes a distal layer with a plurality of apertures disposed therein, each of the plurality of apertures traversing the distal layer between a convex outer surface and a concave inner surface, and an intermediate layer comprising a plurality of light guides, the intermediate layer being mechanically coupled to the distal layer such that a proximal end of each light guide of the plurality of light guides is oriented to accept light transmissions from a corresponding light source and a distal end of each light guide is oriented to transmit the light transmission through a corresponding aperture of the plurality of apertures, such that the light is directed to targeted vantage points corresponding to the corresponding aperture, and causing different light transmissions to be transmitted to different vantage points.

Multi-vantage point light-field picture element display

A display system for illuminating surfaces of objects in a ride or show set for viewing by a viewer in a viewing space wearing three-dimensional (3D) glasses or headgear. The 3D glasses or headgear is adapted to pass or transmit light associated with a first set of three wavelengths to a left eye and to pass or transmit light with a second set of three wavelengths differing from the first set of three wavelengths. Each of these wavelengths may be associated with a primary color wavelength for providing left and right eye content to a viewer. The system, therefore, may include a wavelength multiplex visualization (WMV) projection system projecting light having the first and second sets of three wavelengths to provide the viewer stereo content via the 3D glasses or headgear.

One embodiment of the present disclosure may take the form of a projection module for projecting onto a projection surface. The projection module includes a light source emitting a beam of light, a diffractive optical element in optical communication with the light source, the diffractive optical element acts to split the beam of light into a plurality of diffracted light beams, a lens assembly in optical communication with the diffractive optical element and configured to converge the diffracted light beams onto the projection surface, and a motion assembly connected to at least one of the light source or the lens assembly. The motion assembly changes an orientation of the diffractive light beams relative to the lens assembly.

System for simulating pyrotechnics

A multi-theater light source for two or more 3D projectors positioned in differing spaces. The apparatus includes a first light source outputting light to display left eye content, and the apparatus includes a second light source outputting light for use by the projectors to display right eye content. The apparatus includes a switching device that receives the light output from the first and second light sources and switches between first and second operating states to route the left and right eye light. In the first operating state, the switching device directs the light from the first light source toward a first projector and the light output from the second light source toward a second projector. In the second operating state, the switching device directs the light output from the first light source toward the second projector and the light output from the second light source toward the first projectors.

A display system for creating three dimensional (3D) imagery for a viewer wearing 3D glasses such as wavelength multiplex visualization (WMV) technology glasses with a first lens passing colored light in a first range of wavelengths and with a second lens passing colored light in a second range of wavelengths. The system includes a first WMV light source outputting a first light stream onto a display surface, with the first light stream having a wavelength in the first wavelength range. The system includes a second WMV light source outputting a second light stream onto the display surface concurrently with the second light stream, with the second light stream having a wavelength in the second wavelength range. The WMV light sources are scanning lasers that each may be a scanning laser providing red, green, or blue coherent light or a full red, green, and blue (RGB) scanning laser.

Scanning laser-based three dimensional (3D) display systems for viewers wearing 3D glasses

A display system creating three dimensional (3D) imagery for a viewer in a viewing space wearing 3D stereo glasses. The 3D stereo glasses have first and second lens passing colored light in first and second ranges of wavelengths. The display system includes a 3D mural element with a display surface facing the viewing space and a light receiving surface opposite the display surface. The display system includes a first wavelength multiplex visualization (WMV) light source outputting a first light stream onto the light receiving surface, and the first light stream has a wavelength in the first range of wavelengths. The display system includes a second WMV light source outputting a second light stream onto the light receiving surface, and the second light stream has a wavelength in the second range of wavelengths. WMV light sources may be directed onto 3D surfaces and props in the viewing space providing 3D effect.

Three dimensional (3D) stereo display systems for creating 3D effects for viewers wearing 3D glasses

A zoetrope device having a plurality of panels is disclosed. Each of the panels may be formed with one or more indicia representing various objects such as people and things. The panels may be mounted to a rotatable platform that traverses the panels over a light source. When the panel is traversed over the light source, the light source may illuminate the edge of the panel and the indicia formed on the panel. The indicia may be formed at different depths to provide the viewer with an image that appears to be three dimensional. Moreover, the light source may have one or more different light colors for illuminating the indicia therewith and/or alternately illuminating the indicia with different light colors.

Zoetrope light emitting device

A high dynamic range scenographic image and video projection system and method involving the projection of an image of an object or collection of objects onto the object, 2D or 3D, in such a manner than projected image elements are positioned substantially on the actual image of the object. The projection enhances or otherwise alters the hue, contrast, brightness, saturation, luminance, and/or other visible features of the object. Visual and not-visual features may be projected onto the object or the area around the object to enhance or disguise the object as well as the surroundings of the object.
