The embodiments described herein relate to systems and techniques for processing batch detection information received from one or more sensors configured to observe objects of interest. In particular the systems and techniques are configured to enhance track performance particularly in dense target environments. A substantially large number of batch detections can be processed in a number of phases of varying complexity. An initial phase performs relatively low complexity processing on substantially all detections obtained over an extended batch period, approximating object motion with a simplified model (e.g., linear). The batch detections are divided and redistributed into swaths according to the resulting approximations. A subsequent phase performs greater complexity (e.g., quadratic) processing on the divided sets of detections. The subdivision and redistribution of detections lends itself to parallelization. Beneficially, detections over extended batch periods can be processed very efficiently to provide improved target tracking and discrimination in dense target environments.

Described is a mobile radar system which provides both persistent surveillance and tracking of objects with adaptive measurement rates for both maneuvering and non-maneuvering objects. The mobile radar system includes a vehicle having mounted therein an active, electronically-steerable, phased array radar system movable between a stowed position and a deployed position and wherein the phased array radar system is operational in both the deployed and stored positions and also while the vehicle is either stationary or moving. Thus, the mobile radar system described herein provides for longer time on target and longer integration times, increased radar sensitivity and improved Doppler resolution and clutter rejection. This results in a highly mobile radar system appropriate for use in a battlefield environment and which supports single-integrated-air-picture metrics including but not limited to track purity, track completeness, and track continuity and thus improved radar performance in a battlefield.

A method of multiple sensor processing includes receiving, at a first sensor system, track data from a second sensor system, comparing track data from the first sensor system to the track data from the second sensor system to determine if a track will be within a field of view of the first sensor system during a time period, determining, at a first sensor system, predicted quality of tracks based on the track data and broadcasting the predicted quality of tracks. The method also includes receiving predicted quality of tracks from the second sensor system and determining a first set of tasks based on the predicted quality of tracks determined by the first sensor system and the predicted quality of tracks received from the second sensor system.
