The disclosure relates generally to wireless communication, and more particularly to selective relay of data packets. A method includes receiving one or more received data packets from a series of transmitted data packets that are transmitted from a host device over a host piconet during a plurality of listening time slots of the host piconet; receiving a bitmap over a primary/secondary piconet, wherein the bitmap includes a plurality of bitmap portions and each bitmap portion respectively corresponds to one of the plurality of listening time slots of the host piconet; analyzing the received bitmap to identify one or more missed data packets from the series of transmitted data packets that were not received from the host device; and generating a relay list of missed data packets based on the analyzing of the bitmap.

Selective relay of data packets

The disclosure relates generally to wireless communication, and more particularly to selective relay of data packets. A method includes listening to a host device in one or more listening time slots of a host piconet, identifying one or more bitmap portions of a bitmap, wherein the identified one or more bitmap portions corresponds to the one or more listening time slots of the host piconet, determining whether a data packet having a data packet payload is effectively received from the host device during the one or more listening time slots, and populating the bitmap with one or more corresponding signifiers.

Two devices (e.g., two wireless Bluetooth earbuds) may exchange device address information (e.g., Bluetooth address information) and may identify a primary address. When either of the devices connect to a source device (e.g., a phone), the primary address may be used by the connecting device such that the pair of devices appear as a single device (e.g., a Bluetooth-pairable device) to the source device, regardless of the device connecting to the source device as the primary device. The primary device may then send identity information (e.g., that has been exchanged with the secondary device) to the source device, such that the source device may connect to either of the two devices. Further, once a primary device connects to the source device, the primary device may transmit, to the secondary device, connection information such that the secondary device may connect to the source device and operate in the primary role.

Address management for Bluetooth devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a wireless audio device are described. A first (e.g., primary) wireless audio device may initiate a role switch procedure with a second (e.g., secondary) wireless audio device. The first wireless audio device may disable traffic flow between the source device and the first wireless audio device and transmit synchronization information and timing information necessary for taking over the role of primary wireless audio device to the second wireless audio device. The first wireless audio device may transmit a device role switch message, and the first wireless audio device and the second wireless audio device may perform the role switch. After performing the role switch, the first wireless audio device may assume the role of a secondary wireless audio device and the second wireless audio device may assume the role of a primary wireless audio device.

Seamless link transfers between primary and secondary devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include determining that a quality condition of a primary Bluetooth-enabled device is lower than a quality condition of a secondary Bluetooth-enabled device. The primary Bluetooth-enabled device may transmit, to the secondary Bluetooth-enabled device, a handover request message based on the determining. The handover request message may include a subset of connection information associated with a connection between the primary Bluetooth-enabled device and a device in wireless communications with the primary Bluetooth-enabled device. The primary Bluetooth-enabled device may receive, from the secondary Bluetooth-enabled device, a handover response message based on the handover request message. As a result, the primary Bluetooth-enabled device may handover, to the secondary Bluetooth-enabled device, at least one logical transport channel of the set of logical transport channels based on the handover response message.

Devices and methods of detecting a predetermined audio signal in audio signals are provided. A device includes a processor coupled to a clock signal generator, a power controller and an audio detector. The power controller controls a clock rate provided to the processor by the clock signal generator, to control the device to operate in a low power mode having a relatively low power consumption or in a normal power mode having a relatively high power consumption. The audio detector receives audio signals and detects, in the low power mode, probable presence of a predetermined audio signal in the audio signals. The power controller controls the device to switch from the low power mode to the normal power mode responsive to the detected presence of the predetermined audio signal by the audio detector.

A device having a first processing system for providing the functionality of the upper layers of a Bluetooth stack, including a first L2CAP layer, a Bluetooth Controller for providing the functionality of the lower layers of the Bluetooth stack, the first processing system and the Bluetooth Controller being connected by a Host Controller Interface (HCI), a second processing system including an implementation of a second L2CAP layer for transmission of data to the Bluetooth Controller for transmission over a Bluetooth Link established by the first processing system and L2CAP layer, and the first processing system being configured to distribute flow-control tokens between the first and second L2CAP layers both layers can transmit data to a remote device using the Bluetooth Link.

A signal receiver capable of operating in two modes: a normal mode for reception and decoding of signals and a detection mode for detecting the presence of signals, the signal receiver having: a functional unit that can operate in two manners: a first manner having relatively low power consumption and relatively poor accuracy and a second manner having relatively high power consumption and relatively high accuracy, and a controller for causing the functional unit to operate in the first manner when the receiver is in its detection mode and in the second manner when the receiver is in its normal mode.

A communication device for receiving a signal in the form of a series of bursts, each burst being at one of a plurality of different available transmission modes, the communication device comprising: two antennas; a receiver unit coupled to the antennas for preferentially receiving signals from a selected one of the antennas; and an antenna selection unit for selecting for each received burst with which of the antennas the receiver unit is to preferentially receive signals.

Antenna diversity

A method of determining relative phase data of a signal received at multiple antennas, the signal being a phase-modulated data signal having a plurality of periods of constant frequency, the method comprising: within each period of constant frequency, sampling the signal received by a first one of the multiple antennas and sampling the signal received by at least one different one of the multiple antennas; determining from the received samples a data symbol value represented by the received signal for each of the periods of constant frequency; and using the determined data symbol value information to eliminate phase variations between the samples received by the different antennas within each constant frequency period arising from the modulation of the data signal to generate relative phase data for said different antennas.

A radio transceiver comprising: a signal receiver for receiving signals in the form of bursts according to a first protocol; a transmitter for transmitting signals in the form of bursts according to a second protocol, the first and second protocols being such that signals of the first and second protocols are mutually interfering; a transmission scheduler for predicting, based on the timings of signal bursts of the first protocol received by the receiver, the timings of future bursts of the first protocol and arranged to influence the transmitter to transmit bursts according to the second protocol so as to avoid the signal bursts of the first protocol as predicted.
