A compact, portable carrier for a flexible bag containing a comminuted material and having a bottom discharge spout, including a frame structured to encompass such bag and attach such bag in suspended relation thereto, be transported to a spaced site and be operated to jostle the material contained in such suspended bag to facilitate the discharge thereof through the spout thereof.

Bulk material handling system and carrier therefor

A rope assembly for a mechanical bulk material conveyor generally consisting of a continuous rope adapted to be trained about a pair of sprockets within the conveyor, a rope ends connecting flight and a plurality of intermediate flights secured to and spaced along the rope at intervals, each of such intermediate flights including a ferrule having a tubular section receiving a portion of the rope therethrough and being firmly secured thereto and an annular flange section, a disc member having an opening receiving a portion of the rope therethrough, a boss member having an opening receiving a portion of the rope therethrough, the opening in at least one of the disc and boss members having a first enlarged section receiving a portion of the ferrule tubular section therein and a second enlarged section receiving at least a portion of the ferrule flange section therein, and means for firmly securing the disc and boss members together with the ferrule interposed therebetween. The flange section of each ferrule is provided with an annular groove for receiving and guiding the blade of a cutting tool, thereby assuring a severance of the ferrule at its midpoint, a severance along a plane disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rope receiving opening in the ferrule and a minimal amount of metal to be cut through.

Rope assembly for mechanical conveyors

An apparatus into which particulate material may be charged for further handling generally includes a housing having a support wall including a primary inlet through which particulate material may be charged, producing portions of settling and airborne particles of such material, and at least one secondary inlet, and an outlet through which the particulate material may be discharged, a filter unit having an inlet communicating with the interior of the housing and means for producing an airflow from the primary and secondary inlets through the filter unit whereby ambient air will be caused to be drawn through the primary and secondary inlets and the filter unit, entraining airborne particles outside and within the housing which further are caused to be removed from such airflow by the filter unit, dislodged therefrom and be discharged through the housing outlet.

Bag dump apparatus

A conveyor for bulk materials comprising first and second housings, a pair of conduits interconnecting the housings to provide a circuitous path, one of the housings and the conduits having means for feeding material therein, one of the housings and the conduits having means for discharging material therefrom, a sprocket mounted in each of the housings, means for driving one of the sprockets, and a rope assembly including a nylon-coated metallic wire rope disposed in the housings and the conduits, along the circuitous path, and reeved around the sprockets, metallic end ferrules press-fit onto and welded to opposing, exposed end portions of the rope, a plurality of intermediate metallic ferrules press-fit onto the nylon coating of the rope at spaced intervals between the end ferrules, and a plurality of disc assemblies mounted on the rope and received within spaced recesses provided on the peripheries of the sprockets, each of the disc assemblies inlcuding a single boss and a single disc mounted on the rope and secured together with a ferrule therebetween.
