A fuel rail assembly for delivering fuel to at least one fuel injector. The assembly includes a main pipe defining a passageway through which fuel passes to the fuel injector. A fastener mount is forged with the main pipe such that the fastener mount is integral with the main pipe. The fastener mount defines a first aperture configured to receive a fastener for mounting the main pipe. A wire harness mount is forged with the main pipe such that the wire harness mount is integral with the main pipe. The wire harness mount defines a second aperture configured to cooperate with a coupling member of a wire harness. The fastener mount and the wire harness mount are on a common side of the main pipe.

Fuel rail assembly

A mounting assembly for mounting a fuel injector to a fuel rail. The mounting assembly includes a mounting boss and a fuel cup. The mounting boss is configured to be mounted to the fuel rail and receive a bolt within the mounting boss to couple the fuel rail to a cylinder head. The fuel cup is coupled to the mounting boss and configured to receive the fuel injector therein, as well as be mounted to the fuel rail to direct fuel from the fuel rail to the fuel injector.

Integrated sealing and positioning structure for fuel rail

In a GDI fuel rail mounting system comprising a fuel injection rail, having at least one fuel injector receiving cup with a generally cylindrical shape directly attached to the fuel rail generally perpendicular to and offset from the center of the fuel rail. The fuel rail further comprising at least one generally cylindrical attachment means proximal the fuel injector receiving cup, also attached to the fuel rail offset from the center thereof, the attachment means and the fuel injector receiving cup being disposed generally parallel to each other. A securing strap is attached to the outer curvature of at least one of the injector receiving cup and the attachment means, at least partially wrapping around the outer periphery of the attachment means, thereby inhibiting torsional, lineal, and lateral movement of the injector cup relative to the attachment means and the fuel rail.

Connecting element for GDI tube stress reduction

A fuel injector mounting assembly including a mounting clip. The mounting clip includes a frame, a first leg, a second leg, a first arm, and a second arm. The frame includes a first side, a second side, and a generally planar surface extending between the first side and the second side. The first arm extends from the first side of the frame. The first arm includes a fuel cup support portion aligned with the first leg and extending in generally the same direction as the first leg, a raised surface of the fuel cup support portion configured to cooperate with the fuel cup, and a flange at an end of the fuel cup support portion, the flange extending away from the first leg. The second arm extends from the second side of the frame and is at least substantially similar to the first arm.

Mounting point injector clip

A fuel injector cradle mount assembly for a vehicle includes a fuel injector rail, a connective inlet assembly coupled to the fuel injector rail, a cradle coupled to the connective inlet assembly, and a fuel injector. The fuel injector includes a torso and a nozzle. The torso includes a base portion on a first end, and defines an inlet on a second end opposite the first end. The fuel injector is arranged between the connective inlet assembly and the cradle. The inlet of the fuel injector is coupled to the connective assembly, the base portion of the fuel injector rests on the cradle, and the cradle supports the fuel injector from the connective inlet assembly and the fuel injector rail.

Cradled fuel injector mount assembly

Attaching a fuel injector to a common rail may utilize a fuel injector and an integral tab that has a solid head portion from which a first flexible prong and a second flexible prong protrude and define a gap therebetween. A fuel injector cup may define a notch through which the first prong and the second prong reside to secure the fuel injector to the fuel injector cup, which is attached to the rail. A first prong interior straight wall surface and a second prong interior straight wall surface may face the gap and be parallel. The prongs may define entry contact surfaces and exit contact surfaces that meet at prescribed angles to aid in insertion and hinder retraction of the injector tab from the injector cup. The tab defines a solid head portion below the gap that resides in the notch.
