A system for obtaining optical coherence tomography of the optical system of a person, comprising: an eyepiece customized for alignment and positioning to contact a person's eye socket and having a lens pocket for receiving a refractive lens customized for the person's eye refraction characteristics; a condensing system for receiving light from the eyepiece; a scanning module optically connected to the condensing system and having a mirror tiltable in two directions for obtaining optical scanning data from the person's optical system; and a spectrometer and camera module optically connected to the scanning module for obtaining and storing the optical scanning data, wherein the eyepiece, condensing system and scanning module are arranged to provide an optical path for delivering a light beam to the person's eye, and receive reflected light to be directed to the scanning module.

A system and method for improving hearing is disclosed. The system includes a microphone array that includes an enclosure, a plurality of beamformer microphones and an electronic processing circuitry to provide enhanced audio signals to a user by using information obtained on the position and orientation of the user. The system is preferably in the form of a smartphone having a retractable piece having the beamformer microphones mounted thereon. The disease may also be detected with a non-transitory computer storage media having instructions stored thereon which, when executed, execute the method for detecting a disease by analysis of retinal vasculature. The method may track changes in lumen thickness, plaque, size, area and density of the disease by analysis of retinal vasculature over a predetermined period of time.

A method for combining a plurality of eye images into a plenoptic multifocal image that includes registering the eye images with a plurality of frames into one or more eye image sets with a processor and a memory system, aligning each of the eye images in each of the one or more image sets with a selected reference that resides on the memory system with the processor and determining one or more in-focus regions of the eye images by calculating one or more gradient images while ignoring noise and other imaging artifacts. The method also includes identifying the one or more in-focus regions with highest resolution from the one or more gradient images and selecting one or more corresponding in-focus intensities from the frames to combine into a plenoptic multifocal image with a higher resolution than the eye images, the frames and the one or more eye image sets.
