A mount for suspending a laser medium has a cross section profile. The mount is configured to conduct heat away from the laser medium without imparting undue stress. The mount includes a laser host medium having a first cross section profile. A heat sink defines a bore. The bore has a second cross section profile configured to envelop the first cross section profile and further defines a generally uniform interspace between the first cross section profile and second first cross section profile. An amalgam of a mercury soluble metal is formed to substantially fill the interspace to support the laser host medium.

Low stress, high thermal conduction laser rod mounting

Apparatus for collecting light from an LED and transmitting it in a near-uniform column incudes a conical reflector having a roughed up inner surface about the base of the LED for collecting light emitted to the sides of the LED, and a lens specially designed to focus the collected light into a near-collimated beam. The lens has opposite, substantially elliptical surfaces to collect and collimate the rapidly diverging light from the LED and the reflector, and each lens surface includes a flat spot to prevent shadows from forming, thereby producing a more uniform beam.

Led light collection and uniform transmission system using a conical reflector with a roughed up inner surface

A rugged resonator for a laser includes a laser pump housing. An X-fold resonator assembly is configured to receive and hold the laser pump housing. The resonator includes at least four mirrors, a first, a second, a third, and a fourth mirror. The first mirror is configured to receive a first incident laser beam from the first end and to reflect a first reflected beam to reflect as a third reflected beam from the third mirror. The second mirror is configured to receive a second incident laser beam from the second end and reflecting a second reflected beam to intersect the first reflected beam and to reflect as a fourth reflected beam from the fourth mirror. An optical coupler is affixed to an optics plate and configured to receive the third reflected beam. A high reflector is affixed to the optics plate and configured to receive the fourth reflected beam.

Optical bench for diode-pumped solid state lasers in field applications

LED light collection and uniform transmission system

A renewable energy flashlight comprises a housing and a barrel located within the housing. A wire coil wraps around the barrel, between the barrel and the housing. A magnet oscillates within the barrel when the flashlight is shaken, generating an alternating current in the coil. Two springs at either end of the barrel cause the magnet to recoil when the magnet strikes the springs. As an alternative, rebound magnets oriented to repel the charging magnet may be installed within the barrel at either end, to cause the magnet to recoil from the ends. An electronics assembly within the housing includes a capacitor for storing charge, a rectifier connected to the capacitor, and means for conducting current flowing in the coil to the rectifier, to charge the capacitor. An LED is connected to the capacitor by means of a switch, and lights up when the switch is switched on.

Renewable energy flashlight

A renewable energy flashlight comprises a housing and a barrel located within the housing. The barrel has a wire coil wrapped around it, between the barrel and the housing. A magnet disposed within the barrel oscillates within the barrel when the barrel is shaken, generating an alternating current in the coil. Two springs at either end of the barrel cause the magnet to recoil when the magnet strikes the springs. An electronics assembly located within the housing includes a capacitor for storing charge, a rectifier connected to the capacitor, and means for conducting current flowing in the coil to the rectifier, to provide rectified current to the capacitor and charge the capacitor. A light emitting diode (LED) is connected to the capacitor by means of a switch, so the LED lights up when the switch is switched on.
