Systems and methods for providing wall mount systems for personal entertainment devices (PEDs) or other display devices that allow for replacement of older, expensive, obsolete, and/or heavy aircraft monitors with improved PEDs (e.g., tablets). A wall mount system may include a PED holder that securely and removably attaches to a docking base that is installable on a surface (e.g., wall of an aircraft cabin). The docking base may include one or more connectors or ports that provide at least one of power and/or data transfer capabilities. The PED holder removably holds a PED therein, and is removably attachable to the docking base via a quick release connector that does not require any tools to operate. The PED holder includes circuitry that allows the PED to be electrically coupled to the one or more connectors or ports of the docking base when the PED holder is attached to the docking base.

Methods and systems for data prioritization are described. In one example embodiment, the method includes the steps of assigning data an urgency and importance, and prioritizing the data using the assigned urgency and importance. In one specific example, such prioritization is then used in communicating, e.g., dispatching, the data. For example, such urgency and importance are used in prioritizing data to be communicated between an onboard aircraft system and a ground based system.

A programmable graphical display switch is described herein that provides users with a way of controlling other devices and for customizing how that control is initiated and communicated to a user.

An aircraft data management system provides a passenger seated on the aircraft with a number of entertainment and productivity enhancing options. Such options include, without limitation, video, audio, internet, airplane systems data and power. Located proximate to each seat group is an integrated seat box that includes a network interface card that identifies a requesting passenger for proper directing of the required data and/or power from devices that interface with a network controller back to the requesting passenger. Both on-aircraft and off-aircraft devices may be accessed by the system. While particularly drawn to aircraft, the data management system is also applicable to other venues have identifiable seating locations such as buses, passenger ships, hotels and auditoriums.
