Magnetic components and a method for making them are described. A conducting material may be cut using a high power laser such as, but not limited to, a rare-earth fiber laser such as a Ytterbium fiber laser. Alternatively, a conducting material may be cut using an abrasive water jet. The magnetic components may be planar.

Magnetic components and methods for making same

A low profile, low cost, high performance inductor/transformer component having a wire coil within a core set which is disposed at least partially within a recess in a header. The header includes projections extending from it which form terminals when wire leads from the coil are wrapped around them.
