A method includes receiving first information indicative of a first selection of a machine disposed at a worksite, wherein the first information is received from an electronic device disposed remote from the worksite. The method also includes receiving second information from the electronic device, wherein the second information is indicative of a second selection of a component of the machine. The method further includes determining, using at least one sensor, that an area surrounding the machine is free from unknown objects, and receiving third information indicative of a request to activate the component. The method also includes causing activation of the component based at least in part on the third information.

Systems and methods for activating machine components

A method for operating a paving machine is provided. The paving machine includes a screed assembly, a washdown system for washing the paving machine and the screed assembly and a ventilation system. The method includes receiving, by a controller, an operational data associated with the paving machine, and determining an operational state associated with the washdown system. The method further includes controlling, by the controller, an operation of the ventilation system based on the operational data associated with the paving machine and the operational state associated with the washdown system.

System and method for operating a paving machine

A material feed system for a paving machine includes a first sensor assembly, a second sensor assembly, and a controller configured to independently operate each of a left material feed mechanism and a right material feed mechanism with respect to one another and, selectively, in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, a speed of each of a left auger, a left conveyor, a right auger, and a right conveyor is automatically adjusted. In the second mode, the speed of at least one of the left auger, the left conveyor, the right auger, and the right conveyor is manually set by an operator input, one of the left material feed mechanism and the right material feed mechanism is operated in the first mode, and the other of the left material feed mechanism and the right material feed mechanism is simultaneously operated in the second mode.
