Systems are provided for the controlled release delivery of active agents through the use of repeat sequence protein polymers. The systems may exist as matrices, gels, hydrogels, films, emulsions or microparticles and are particularly useful for incorporating active agents into personal care product compositions.

Controlled release of active agents utilizing repeat sequence protein polymers

A silicone composition having a continuous phase of a polar organic liquid including particles of a silicone active material encapsulated within an organic encapsulating material which is a solid at 25&deg; C. The silicone active material is sparingly soluble in the polar organic liquid at 25&deg; C., but is substantially dissolved in the polar organic liquid at temperatures of from 40 to 100&deg; C. The three phase contact angle between the organic encapsulating material, the silicone antifoam, and the polar organic liquid is below 130&deg; C., with the angle measured through the silicone.

Silicone dispersions

The compositions of the present invention consist essentially of (I) a reaction product, (II) a nonaqueous liquid continuous phase, and (III) a moderately hydrophobic particulate stabilizing aid. Component (I) is prepared by heating a mixture of (i) a polyorganosiloxane fluid, (ii) a silicon compound, (iii) a finely divided filler and (iv) a catalytic amount of a compound for promoting the reaction of components (i) to (iii) at a temperature of 50.degree. C. to 300.degree. C. The compositions of the present invention can additionally contain (IV) at least one nonionic silicone surfactant, and (V) a nonreinforcing inorganic filler.

Stable dispersible silicone compositions

Disclosed are aqueous liquid detergent compositions comprising dispersed particles of a silicone-based suds suppressor system and a separately added moderately hydrophobic particulate silica stabilizing agent. Such a separately added stabilizing agent serves to retard coalescence and coagulation of the suds suppressor particles and thus enhances the storage stability of the suds suppressor-containing detergent compositions of this invention.
