An elevator guide rail block assembly configured for use with an elevator car or counterweight guide rail is provided. The elevator guide rail block assembly includes a framework and a plurality of cams supported for rotation by the framework and positioned between spaced apart support elements. The spaced apart support elements are connected together by a retention element. An actuator element is configured to actuate rotation of the plurality of rotatable cams. A clamp structure is attached to the framework and is spaced apart from the plurality of rotatable cams. In a rotated orientation, each of the plurality of rotatable cams engage a face of an elevator or counterweight guide rail and the clamp structure engages an opposing face of the elevator or counterweight guide rail to form a clamping action configured to secure the elevator guide rail block assembly to the elevator car or counterweight guide rail.

Elevator guide rail block assembly

An elevator guide rail block assembly configured for use with an elevator car or counterweight guide rail is provided. The elevator guide rail block assembly includes a framework and a plurality of rotatable cams attached to the framework. An actuator element is configured to actuate rotation of the plurality of rotatable cams. A clamp structure is attached to the framework and spaced apart from the plurality of rotatable cams. In a rotated orientation, the combination of the plurality of rotatable cams and the clamp structure form a clamping action configured to secure the elevator guide rail block assembly to an elevator car or counterweight guide rail.

A wire rope clamp assembly for use with an elevator is provided. The wire rope clamp includes a first clamp member having an outer side and an inner side. The inner side has a plurality of channels configured to receive one or more suspension members. The plurality of first clamp member channels has a plurality of surface structures configured to engage lays of the one or more suspension members. A second clamp member is configured for attachment to the first clamp member. The second clamp member has an outer side and an inner side. The inner side has a plurality of channels configured to receive the one or more suspension members. The plurality of second clamp member channels has a plurality of surface structures configured to engage lays of the one or more suspension members. The plurality of surface structures for the first and second clamp member channels are multidirectional.

Wire rope clamp assembly

An elevator traveling cable hanger assembly for use with an elevator is provided. The elevator traveling cable hanger assembly includes a base structure configured for attachment to an elevator hoistway structure. An insert is configured for attachment to the base structure and further configured to support an elevator traveling cable. A plurality of wire rope clips are configured to support a traveling cable core extending from the elevator traveling cable. A plurality of fasteners are configured to secure the base structure, insert, elevator traveling cable and plurality of wire rope clips to the elevator hoistway structure.

Elevator traveling cable hanger assembly

An elevator counterweight signaling system is provided. The elevator counterweight signaling system includes an actuation assembly configured for contact with an elevator counterweight guide rail. A signaling assembly is configured for electrical communication with the actuation assembly and one or more electrical connectors is configured to electrically connect the actuation assembly with the signaling assembly. The signaling assembly is configured to provide visual and/or audio indications of a moving elevator counterweight assembly.

Elevator counterweight signaling system

An installation gauge for use in an elevator hoistway is provided. The installation gauge includes a platform assembly and a frame assembly configured to support the platform assembly. The frame assembly includes one or more safety assemblies and one or more guide assemblies. Opposing guide shoes are connected to each of the one or more guide assemblies. The opposing guide shoes are centered about a guide rail and configured to determine a centerline of the guide rail. A lift assembly is configured to facilitate hoisting of the platform assembly and the frame assembly within the elevator hoistway. A plurality of safety ropes couples the lift assembly to the one or more safety assemblies. A climbing rope is attached to the lift assembly. The determination of the centerline of the guide rail can be used as a basis to install other hoistway equipment.

False car device

A false car device configured for use in an elevator hoistway is provided. The false car device includes a platform assembly and a frame assembly configured to support the platform assembly. The frame assembly includes one or more safety assemblies. A lift assembly is configured to facilitate hoisting of the platform and the frame assembly within the elevator hoistway. A climbing rope is attached to the lift assembly and has a tension. The safety assembly is configured to engage an elevator guide rail in the event the tension in the climbing rope is lost.

A construction apparatus is provided and span members connected together at a first end by a first connector, the span members having a first end, a second end and a length. Sill brackets are connected to the first end of the span members and are configured to seat against an entrance sill. A second connector connects the span members together at a second end and is configured to seat against a hoistway structure. A plurality of apertures is arranged on the span members and configured to allow a connection to hoist devices. The span members rotate about the sill brackets and the lengths of the span members are longer than a horizontal distance from the entrance sill to the hoistway structure such that when the apparatus is in a seated orientation, the construction apparatus rests in an inclined orientation with respect to a substantially horizontal axis.

Three-beam construction apparatus

A guide rail straightness tester is provided. The guide rail straightness tester includes a first rail clamp assembly attached to a guide rail. An opposing second rail clamp assembly is attached to the guide rail. A sensor assembly is positioned between the first and second rail clamp assemblies and configured for slidable seating on the guide rail. The sensor assembly includes a sensor plate. A line extends from the first rail clamp assembly through an aperture in the sensor plate and is connected to the second rail clamp assembly. The sensor assembly is configured to determine the straightness of the guide rail during movement of the sensor assembly along the guide rail.

Guide rail straightness tester

A tool for use with elevators and escalators, having two or more slidably connected assemblies, is provided. The assemblies have rails connected together and arranged in a parallel orientation. Support members are connected to the rails and a plurality of treads is attached to the support members. The treads are configured to provide a working surface upon which personnel can stand, sit or kneel and upon which materials can be placed. An extension member is connected to one end of the rails. Each extension member includes a locking member and a stop. Each locking member includes a first arm, a second arm and a third arm. In an open position, the third arm is in contact with the stop and in a closed position, the second arm is in contact with the stop. The assemblies are configured to bridge gaps formed within and around the elevators and escalators.

Elevator and escalator tool

A construction apparatus for use within an elevator hoistway is provided. The construction apparatus includes span members, each span member having a first end, a second end and a length. Sill attachments are connected to the first end of the span members. The sill attachments are configured to rotate about and seat against a building sill. A support member connected to the second end of the span members. The support members are configured to seat against a second side of the elevator hoistway. The length of the span members is longer than a horizontal distance from the building sill to the second side of the elevator hoistway such that the span members rest in an inclined orientation with respect to a substantially horizontal axis. One or more platforms is supported by one or more forms, the platforms arranged such as to provide a working platform within the elevator hoistway.

Construction apparatus

A tool for use in the construction and maintenance of elevators and escalators is provided. The tool includes a plurality of rails arranged in a parallel orientation, a plurality of support members connected to the plurality of rails and a plurality of treads attached to the plurality of support members. The plurality of treads is configured to provide a working surface upon which construction or maintenance personnel can stand, sit or kneel. The plurality of treads is further configured to provide a working surface upon which materials can be placed. The tool is configured to bridge gaps formed within the elevators and escalators and bridge gaps formed in building spaces in and around the elevators and escalators.

Construction apparatus for use within an elevator hoistway are provided. The construction apparatus include a span member having a first end and a second end. A sill attachment is connected to the first end of the span member and configured to seat against a building sill. A support member is connected to the second end of the span member and configured to seat against a second side of the elevator hoistway, wherein the second side of the elevator hoistway is opposite the building sill. A plurality of apertures is arranged on the span member and configured to allow a connection to a hoist device. The span member is configured to rotate about the sill attachment.

A work deck configured for use within an elevator hoistway is provided. The work deck includes a platform having a plurality of planks. A plurality of telescoping assemblies is pivotally connected to one end of the platform, the telescoping assemblies each configured to span the elevator hoistway such that a first end of the telescoping assemblies seats against a building floor and a second end of the telescoping assemblies seats against a hoistway structure. A ladder has a first end and a second end. The first end of the ladder is pivotally connected to the platform and the second end is pivotally connected to the first end of the telescoping assemblies. The platform is configured to provide a work deck for personnel for use within the elevator hoistway. The work deck can be folded into a substantially flat package for ease of shipment.
