A manufacturing by consolidation system suitable for fabricating a component may include a consolidating head movable in a tamping direction. The consolidating head may include at least one support member. A lower head may be carried by the at least one support member. The lower head may have at least one tamper. At least one material dispensing assembly may be carried by the at least one support member. The at least one material dispensing assembly may be configured to contain or support a supply of at least one consolidating material. At least one material support guide may be carried by the lower head in material-receiving relationship to the consolidating roll unit. The at least one material support guide may have a guide discharge end forwardly of the tamper along the tamping direction. A platform positioning assembly may be disposed generally beneath the consolidating head. A working platform may be carried by the platform positioning assembly. In some embodiments, the platform positioning assembly may be configured to impart multi-positional capability to the working platform.

Manufacturing by consolidation systems and methods

Methods of fabricating reduced weight components for apparatuses include obtaining a component including a relatively lightweight material; placing at least one stabilizing structure on the component; sequentially applying a plurality of applied layers on the component and the stabilizing structure by applying the relatively lightweight material over the component and applying over the relatively lightweight material a plurality of layers having gradually progressively higher proportions of the relatively heavyweight material than preceding ones of the plurality of layers closer to the component, with an outer layer of the plurality of applied layers including the relatively heavyweight material; diffusion bonding the plurality of applied layers by consolidation of the plurality of applied layers; and cutting component features in the plurality of applied layers.

Methods of fabricating reduced weight components

A hydraulically-retrievable, reversible flow operation jet pump threadably attached to a tubing string which is powered by fluid supplied through the tubing string. A pump housing, or container, of the jet pump includes a hollow cylinder with an internal diameter closely matching that of the attached tubing string. A jet pump assembly is retainably, scalably disposed within the pump housing. A jet pump reducing nozzle-mixing chamber-diffuser assembly is retainably disposed within the carrier. Power fluid pumped through the nozzle-mixing chamber-diffuser assembly conventionally draws in objective fluid in which the jet pump is immersed, and transports it out of the pump to the desired receiving station. The jet pump assembly can be oriented in either of two directions within the pump housing, for selected fluid direction flow.

Methods of fabricating reduced weight components for apparatuses include providing a plurality of layers from a component core including a relatively lightweight material to an outer layer including a relatively heavyweight material heavier in weight than the relatively lightweight material, the plurality of layers having increasingly higher proportions of the relatively heavyweight material than the relatively lightweight material from the component core to the outer layer; and diffusion bonding the plurality of layers and the outer layer by consolidation of the layers.

This disclosure provides a new class of compounds referred to as 'reversed chloroquines' (RCQs), which are highly effective against CQand CQmalaria parasites. RCQs are hybrid molecules, which include an antimalarial quinoline analog (such as chloroquine) moiety and a CQreversal moiety. Exemplary RCQ chemical structures are provided. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions including the disclosed RCQ compounds, and methods of using such compounds and compositions for the treatment of malaria and inhibition of CQor CQsp. Quinoline derivatives and uses thereof

The disclosure provides modified chloroquine compounds having single ring or fused ring moieties. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, methods of using such compounds to inhibit or treat diseases or conditions caused by chloroquine-resistant (CQ) and chloroquine-sensitive (Cq) malaria parasites and other CQ-susceptible microorganisms, and processes and intermediates useful for preparing such compounds.

A directional speaker system includes an enclosure having an inner surface, an outer surface, an open end, and a closed end, a speaker driver directed toward the open end and mounted near the closed end of the enclosure, an in-line phase plug mounted in front of the speaker driver for manipulating the wavefront of sound waves produced by the speaker driver, and a preferably frustoconical shaped wave guide provided between the speaker driver and the open end of the speaker enclosure. A preferably annular space is provided between the enclosure and the wave guide and a plurality of openings are provided between the enclosure at the open end of the enclosure. Out-of-phase sound waves produced by the speaker driver travel into the space and exit the speaker system through the openings.

Directional horn speaker system

A directional speaker system includes an enclosure having an inner surface, an outer surface, an open end, and a closed end, a speaker driver directed toward the open end and mounted near the closed end of the enclosure, an in-line phase plug mounted in front of the speaker driver for manipulating the wavefront of sound waves produced by the speaker driver, and a preferably frustoconical shaped wave guide provided between the speaker driver and the open end of the speaker enclosure. The in-line phase plug preferably has a plurality of channels. The open end of the enclosure is preferably provided with an acoustically absorbent material around its inner perimeter. A second acoustically absorbent material is provided between the speaker driver, the in-line phase plug, and the wave guide, and the speaker enclosure. The in-line phase plug, wave guide phase plug and baffle plate operate to flatten the wavefront.
