A method for forming a bag includes moving a film at a first velocity, forming a seal on the moving film with a sealing device moving at the first velocity, moving the film and the sealing device relative to each other and thereby moving the sealing device out of alignment with the seal, aligning a film separation device with the seal on the moving film, moving the film separation device with the moving film, and separating the film across the seal with the film separation device. A sealing and cutting device includes a carriage moveable along a longitudinal axis and upper and lower grippers coupled to the carriage. A sealing device and a cutting device are positioned between the upper and lower grippers.

Seal and cut method and apparatus

A combination weighing machine that discharges individual batches of product into a collecting hopper in a weight sensitive sequential order and/or in weight sensitive timing between batches order to avoid clogging at the outlet of the collecting hopper and enhances the efficiency, reliability and speed of the machine.

Combination weigher with stagger discharge

A weighing machine is disclosed that accepts product from a source, segregates it into discrete quantities, and combines a number of the discrete quantities into a group that closely approximates a target weight. The machine includes a feeder means that selectively transports product from the source. Accumulator means receive product from the feeder means and discharge discrete quantities of product therefrom. Weighing means accept product from the accumulating means and determine the weights thereof. Divertor means receive product from the weight sensing means and direct it in one of a plurality of directions. Holding means receive product from the divertor means and retain the product until it is selectively discharged. Collecting means receives product from the holding means, consolidates it, and directs it to another location.
