Prosthetic heart valves described herein can be deployed using a transcatheter delivery system and technique to interface and anchor in cooperation with the anatomical structures of a native heart valve. Some embodiments of prosthetic valves described herein include an anchor portion that couples to the anatomy near a native valve, and a valve portion that is mateable with the anchor portion. In some such embodiments, the anchor portion and/or the deployment system includes one or more prosthetic elements that temporarily augment or replace the sealing function of the native valve leaflets.

The tether has a body (&#x2032;) and a tether member (&#x2032;) having a third diameter greater than the second diameter and smaller than the first diameter. The tether is slideable relative to the tube from a released condition in which the tether member is positioned at least partially distal to the distal end of the tube, and a locked condition in which the tether member is at least partially surrounded by the distal end of the tube. The distal end of the tube can pass through the aperture only in the released condition.

The present disclosure provides ablation catheter systems and electrode assemblies or baskets for use in the ablation catheter systems that include struts that are manufactured from a thermoplastic material. In many embodiments, the struts manufactured from a single piece of thermoplastic material. The struts are generally configured to operate in a double diamond formation, although an electrode basket including the struts described herein may include two, three, four or more diamonds, which may be of the same or different sizes. By manufacturing the struts from a thermoplastic material the diamond-shaped struts as described in the present disclosure may be manufactured with sufficient strength without the need for a nitinol frame or adhesives, thus reducing the overall cost of the strut, as well as overall manufacturing time.

The present disclosure provides ablation catheter systems and electrode assemblies and electrode baskets for use in the ablation catheter systems that include an interlinked diamond configuration formed from a plurality of strut assemblies. Each strut assembly includes one or more struts that are manufactured from a thermoplastic or metallic material. The interlinked diamond configuration facilitates reducing an overall length of the electrode assembly. Further, the interlinked diamond configuration facilitates expanding and contracting the struts simultaneously and by the same amount.

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for performing a renal denervation procedure using an ablation catheter are described. An ablation catheter system may include an ablation catheter including at least one electrode, a generator, and a pulse rate detector and feedback mechanism in electrical connection with the generator. In one embodiment, a method for controlling the temperature of a lesion created inside of a patient includes determining the pulse rate of the patient prior to, and optionally during, a renal denervation procedure and adjusting the amount of energy distributed to an ablation catheter electrode based at least in part on the pulse rate of the patient so as to control the temperature of the lesion being created. By controlling the temperature of the lesion during the ablation process, more consistent patient outcomes may be provided.

A delivery device for a prosthetic heart valve includes a proximal sheath and a distal sheath. The proximal sheath has a distal end disposed at an oblique angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the proximal sheath, and the distal sheath has a proximal end disposed at an oblique angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the distal sheath. The distal end of the proximal sheath and the proximal end of the distal sheath mate so that rotation of the distal sheath relative to the proximal sheath causes the distal sheath to deflect from coaxial alignment with the proximal sheath. Deflection of the distal sheath relative to the proximal sheath enables the prosthetic valve to be axially aligned with the native valve annulus for deployment.

A tissue closure system includes a sheath and a tissue closure device. The sheath includes a tensioner assembly. The tissue closure device is insertable through and connected to the sheath, and includes an expandable member positionable distal of a distal end of the sheath. Operating the tensioner assembly applies a biasing force to the tissue closure device that withdraws the expandable member.

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for sealing a puncture or incision formed percutaneously in tissue separating two internal portions of the body of a living being with an anchor, a sealing plug and a filament connecting the anchor and sealing plug. The methods and apparatus provide for a compaction device or a tamping device that improves control of the amount of force exerted upon the sealing plug. Further, the compaction tube or tamping device can deform upon application of excessive compaction force, thereby reducing the possibility of damage to the sealing plug, anchor, or artery.

A tissue puncture locator device includes a temporary anchor configured for placement through a vascular puncture into a vessel. The temporary anchor includes a column member that defines a lumen. The temporary anchor is movable between an uncompressed position and a compressed position, wherein in the compressed poition a portion of the column member protrudes radially outward. The column member may include a reduced thickness portion, wherein the column member protrudes radially outward at the reduced thickness portion. The column member, when expanded radially outward within the vessel, is sized to limit retraction of the temporary anchor through the vascular puncture.
