A bicycle can include a forward frame triangle that can include a top tube, a bottom tube, a bottom bracket, a structural seat tube, a compliant seat tube, and a pair of seat stays. The top tube can have a first end connected to a head tube and a second end. The bottom tube can have a first end connected to the head tube. The bottom bracket can be connected to the bottom tube. The structural seat tube can be connected to the bottom bracket and the top tube. The compliant seat tube can extend in an upward direction from the bottom bracket to the top tube and within the structural seat tube. The compliant seat tube can be coupled to the forward frame triangle such that the compliant seat post can bend within the structural seat tube.

Rigid frame with high-compliance seat tube and internal cable routing

A bicycle frame includes a tube with a hollow portion. The tube has an opening that provides access to the hollow portion, and the tube also includes one or more recessed flanges adjacent to the opening. The bicycle frame also includes a cover holder configured to mount to the one or more recessed flanges adjacent to the opening in the tube. The bicycle frame further includes an in-tube storage cover that mounts to the cover holder such that at least a portion of an exterior surface of the in-tube storage cover is flush with an outer surface of the tube. The in-tube storage cover includes a lever mounted on the exterior surface of the in-tube storage cover.

In-tube cavity and storage

A bicycle includes a lower frame member and an upper frame member connected to a head tube. The lower frame member includes a down tube, a bottom bracket, and chain stays. The upper frame member includes a top tube, seat stays, and a passage formed in part by a first side wall and a second side wall. The first and second side walls include a first and second openings, respectively. A seat tube extends in an upward direction from the bottom bracket and through the passage. The seat tube includes an opening that extends laterally therethrough. A passive pivot assembly secures the seat tube within the passage, and includes a guide sleeve that extends through the first opening, through the opening in the seat tube, and through the second opening. One or more fasteners secure the guide sleeve to the upper frame member.

Adjustable compliance bicycle

A bicycle including a forward frame triangle. The forward frame triangle can a top tube, a down tube, a bottom bracket, a lower seat mast, and an upper seat mast. The top tube can have a first end connected to a head tube and a second end. The down tube can have a first end connected to the head tube and a second end. The bottom bracket can be connected to the second end of the down tube. The lower seat mast can extend in an upward direction from the bottom bracket to the top tube. The upper seat mast can at least partially overlap the lower seat mast. The upper seat mast can be adjustably and fixedly coupled to the lower seat mast. The upper seat mast can be rotably coupled to the forward frame triangle proximate the second end of the top tube.

A bicycle can include a forward frame triangle that can include a top tube, a bottom tube, a bottom bracket, a structural seat tube, a compliant seat tube, and a pair of seat stays. The top tube can have a first end connected to a head tube and a second end. The bottom tube can have a first end connected to the head tube. The bottom bracket can be connected to the bottom tube. The structural seat tube can be connected to the bottom bracket and the top tube. The compliant seat tube can extend in an upward direction, from the bottom bracket to the top tube and within the structural seat tube. The compliant seat tube can be coupled to the forward frame triangle such that the compliant seat post can bend within the structural seat tube.

A vibration dampening bicycle fork assembly includes a pair of fork legs that sweep in a forward direction relative to a longitudinal axis of a steerer tube that extends in an opposite direction from a fork crown. A dropout is secured to a distal end of each fork leg and a dampener formed of an elastomeric material wraps about at least a portion of an exterior surface of each dropout. A passage extends through the dropout, is offset from the respective fork leg and is aligned with a pair of openings formed in opposite lateral sides of the dampener. An optional fastener cooperates with the passage and the openings and has a mass that is selected to further counteract vibration of the respective fork leg.

Bicycle fork assembly

A bicycle steerer tube assembly having an oblong asymmetric cross section formed along a portion of the steerer tube. The asymmetric portion of the steerer tube has a first diameter that is generally aligned with an axis of rotation of the front wheel and a second diameter that is generally aligned with a plane of rotation of the front wheel. The first diameter is greater than the second diameter and provides lateral stiffness to the wheel assembly and the second diameter accommodates longitudinal impact absorption of the fork and wheel assembly.

Bicycle with asymmetric steerer tube

A bicycle steerer assembly that includes a stub tube, a steerer tube that extends upward from the stub tube, a pair of forks, and a fork crown or crown cap. A key and keyway are formed between the stub tube and a crown portion of each fork. The crown cap overlies the crown portion of each fork thereby preventing dissociation of the key and keyway between each of the pair of forks and the stub tube when the crown cap is positioned thereabout.
