Process for the production of alkyltin halides

A flexible compound comprising PVC or its co-polymers; greater than 10 to 200 parts by weight of at least one bio-based primary plasticizer comprising epoxidized fatty acid esters, wherein the fatty acids are derived from natural oils and animal fats, based on 100 parts by weight of PVC or its co-polymers; and 0.001 to 10 parts by weight of a mixed metal stabilizer comprising a zinc compound and at least one metal compound where the metal is selected from Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Cd, Al, La, Ce or rare earth metals, based on 100 parts by weight of PVC or its co-polymers, wherein an atomic ratio of metal/Zn for the mixed metal stabilizer is less than 1.0.

Flexible PVC compounds having a low metals content

Plasticizer compositions comprising epoxidized fatty acid mono-esters and epoxy-esters are provided. The plasticizer compositions are free of compatibilizer and may contain metal perchlorates and/or phenolic antioxidants and/or conventional plasticizers. The compositions are useful for reduced extraction and lower volatility of halogenated polymers containing the compositions. The plasticizer compositions give reduced extraction of at least 15%. A process for making the plasticizer compositions is also provided. A method of reduced plasticizer extraction from halogenated polymers, such as polyvinyl chloride, is further provided. The plasticizer compositions may be added to PVC resins in effective amounts ranging from 1 and 200 phr.

Plasticizers derived from renewable feedstock

Bio-based wax compositions contain at least one of the following components: epoxides of non-hydrogenated vegetable oils, epoxides of fatty acid esters. epoxides of tall oil fatty acid esters, chemically modified epoxides of non-hydrogenated vegetable oils, chemically modified epoxides of fatty acid esters, and chemically modified epoxides of tall oil fatty acid esters. The wax compositions can be used to produce candle sticks, container candles and/or composite materials.
