Methods and systems for securing communications with an enterprise from a remote computing system are disclosed. The enterprise is included within a community of interest. One method includes authenticating a bridge appliance with an authentication server associated with an enterprise having secure communications, and receiving a packet at the bridge appliance. The method also includes decrypting the packet to provide a decrypted packet in a case where the packet is encrypted according to a cryptographic key associated with the enterprise, and forwarding the decrypted packet to a remote computing device in communication with the bridge appliance. The method additionally includes, in a case where the packet is received from the remote computing device, encrypting the packet according to a cryptographic key associated with the enterprise, to provide an encrypted packet, and forwarding the encrypted packet to an endpoint within the enterprise.

Systems and methods for performing data input/output (I/O) operations using a computer network communications link are described. A method may include assigning a block of virtual addresses for usage with at least one computer network communications link. The method may also include registering the entire block of virtual addresses prior to an operating system partition performing I/O operations using the at least one computer network communications link, wherein registering comprises setting a plurality of virtual page frame numbers of the block of virtual addresses to point to distinct pages of physical memory. In some embodiments, one or more I/O operations may be performed using the at least one computer network communications link and the registered block of virtual addresses.

Data input/output (I/O) handling for computer network communications links

A system and method for updating partial blocks of file data stored in a non-volatile storage within a file cache system connected to a host computer system. A first buffer and a last buffer receive from the non-volatile storage the existing portions of the blocks that are to be retained. A write buffer receives new data of a size not equal to an integral multiple of a block from a host computer system. The new data is merged under hardware control with the existing portions contained in the first buffer and the last buffer, thereby updating the cached file.

System and method for storing partial blocks of file data in a file

A system for communicating data between a main processor and a peripheral processor over a fiber optic interface. The interface is a dedicated, point-to-point link operating in full-duplex, asynchronous mode. Dual fibers and physical layer controllers are used in a cascaded fashion to double the throughput of the interface. Frame control logic coordinates formatting of data into frames for transmission over the interface. Frame format and interface protocol are based on FDDI, but are improved to more efficiently transfer data in a point-to-point implementation. Frame Check Sequences are generated and verified to ensure error-free data transfers. Frame sending and frame receiving logic communicate with the main and peripheral processors, accepting data transfer requests and forwarding received data.
