Various tools and procedures are provided for implantation of an implant at a target site. The procedure can include performing an osteotomy at the target site; placing a guide sleeve into the osteotomy; inserting a coring tool into the guide sleeve; coring the target site up to a depth less than the depth of the osteotomy, the coring tool being configured to collect autogenous bone material from the target site during the coring of the target site; placing the implant at the implant site; and grafting the autogenous bone material into selected portions of the target site.

Device and procedure for implanting a dental implant

A dental implant, components, and kit are provided. The implant can include a body, an attachment structure for attaching the implant to bone, and a recess. The recess can be disposed within the body and open towards a proximal end thereof. The recess can include a proximally-disposed receiving chamber and a distally-disposed threaded chamber. The receiving chamber can include an interlock chamber, which can be disposed at a distal end of the receiving chamber and have a polygonal cross-section. The implant can be multi-functional such that components for various dental prostheses and procedures can be provided having portions that can, for example, engage the interlock chamber of the implant, mate with the receiving chamber of the implant, and/or mate with the proximal end the implant for supporting the prosthesis and/or facilitating the procedure.

Dental implant and dental component connection

A dental implant is provided for supporting a dental prosthesis. The implant has a body having an outer surface, an apical end, a coronal end, a coronal portion, and a threaded portion. The coronal portion has a collar that tapers inwardly. The threaded portion has an intermediate portion and an apical portion, the intermediate portion tapering inwardly at a first angle and the apical portion tapering inwardly at a second angle. At least one thread is located on the outer surface of the threaded portion. The thread has a coronal flank, an apical flank, and a face extending between the coronal flank and apical flank.

Compact dental implant

A dental implant for supporting a dental prosthesis comprises a body portion and a top surface. The implant further comprises an internal cavity with an opening located at the top surface. The internal cavity comprises an interlock chamber having a depth measured from the top surface equal to a first distance. The interlock chamber comprising a cylindrical portion and plurality of semi-circular channels arranged around a periphery of the cylindrical portion. A threaded chamber that includes threads is located below the post-receiving chamber. The cylindrical portion has a first radius and the channels have a second radius, a ratio of the first radius to the second radius being between approximately 4:1. and 2:1.

Implant with internal multi-lobed interlock

A dental implant component includes a distal end that includes a top surface and a proximal end that defines an opening. An inner surface of the component defines an internal cavity. At least one resiliently deflectable prong is disposed in the internal cavity. The prong is configured to releasingly engage a groove formed in a bore of a prosthetic abutment. The component further comprising elongated protrusions positioned within the inner surface configured to engage grooves formed in an inner bore of the abutment.

Transfer coping for dental implants

An impression cap for taking dental impressions in a patient's mouth comprises a distal end that includes a top surface and a proximal end that defines an opening. The impression cap also includes an inner surface that defines an internal cavity. The proximal end of the impression cap is configured to engage a corresponding shoulder of a prosthetic abutment in a snap fit. The impression cap further comprises an injection port configured to receive a tip of an injection syringe for injecting impression material under into the inner cavity and a plurality vent holes configured to allow air and excess impression material to escape from the inner cavity. Methods of using the impression cap and a dental kit including the impression cap are also disclosed.

A dental implant for supporting a dental prosthesis comprises a body portion and a top surface. The implant further comprises an internal cavity with an opening located at the top surface. The internal cavity comprises an interlock chamber having a depth measured from the top surface equal to a first distance. A prosthodontic assembly comprises a restoration having a cavity defined by a first surface and an abutment positioned within the cavity. The assembly further comprises a plurality of standoffs positioned in between the first surface and the abutment to provide a gap. Methods for forming the restoration are also disclosed.

Coping with standoffs

The invention provides a dental drill comprising a plurality of blades each distally terminating in an end cutting edge having a positive rake angle. Advantageously, this allows for efficient, accurate and safe formation of an endosseous implant-receiving osteotomy in a patient's jawbone. Desirably, any patient trauma or discomfort during the procedure is substantially eliminated or reduced and a precision-sized osteotomy for receiving an implant of a predetermined size is created.

A dental implant for supporting a dental prosthesis comprises a body portion and an abutment portion. The dental implant including a roughened surface. When the dental implant is installed into a patient's jawbone, the roughened surface extends above a crest of the jawbone. In one arrangement, the roughened surface extends at least 2 millimeters above the crest. In another arrangement, the roughened surface extends at least 3 millimeters above the crest. In yet another arrangement the roughened surface extends at least 4 millimeters above the crest. Methods for installing and manufacturing a dental implant are also disclosed.

Natural implant system

A prosthodontic assembly for installing a prosthetic tooth comprises a dental implant and abutment combination and a healing cap. The combination includes an implant body portion and an abutment portion. The implant body portion is located at a distal end of the combination and is configured to lie at least partially below a crest of a patient's jawbone. The abutment portion is located at a proximate end of the combination and is configured to lie at least partially above the crest of the patient's jawbone. The abutment portion comprises a flared portion, a shoulder portion and a final restoration portion. The shoulder portion lies between the flared portion and the final restoration portion. A healing cap includes a body portion having a proximal and a distal end. The body portion defines an inner cavity which is sized and adapted so that the healing cap fits over the final restoration portion. The healing cap further includes a tissue retraction flange at the distal end that extends below the shoulder portion when the healing cap is coupled to the abutment portion.
