Systems and methods for controlling electronic shelf labels are disclosed. Product data identifying at least one product and a price of the at least one product and layout data of a physical environment including locations of one or more shelves, a respective shelf location of the at least one product, and coordinates of a plurality of electronic shelf labels is received. Coordinates for a first electronic shelf label associated with the respective shelf location is determined. A first emitter of a plurality of emitters that is capable of communicating with the first electronic shelf label is determined and positioned to direct a signal to the coordinates of the first electronic shelf label to establish a link with only the first electronic shelf label. A portion of the product data is transmitted via the signal, which causes the first electronic shelf label to display the portion of the product data.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for using augmented reality to improve loading, and in particular improve loading when the types and order of items to be loaded is unknown. A server uses information regarding the packages which have already been stored in a storage area to generate a virtual map of where the stored packages currently are placed. Upon receiving information indicating a subsequent package is going to be stored, the server can identify the best place to store that package in the storage area, then communicate that storage location to a device used by a worker. The worker can then have a visual indication showing where and how to place the subsequent package.

If the three-dimensional space is a termination zone, an inventory manager component removes the plurality of items from perpetual inventory.

An example method includes receiving, at a computing device, store layout data of a retail store and product data. The product data identifies at least one product and a price of the product. The method causes an optical emitter to emit an optical signal to at least one electronic shelf label based at least in part on the store layout data, the product data, and a predetermined rule. The optical signal bears the product data and is configured to cause the electronic shelf label to change displayable information to reflect new product data. The electronic shelf label can also send feedback to the optical emitter to inform that the optical signal was successfully received.

The analyzing device is configured to analyze an interior region of the food product. The camera is configured to analyze an external property of the food product. Examples provide customized augmented reality item filtering. An item filter analyzes item data using selection criteria and user preferences to identify high-interest item(s) and/or low-interest item(s) within a field of view (FOV) of a user device associated with a user. A high-interest item can include an item physically present within a portion of an item selection area or an un-stocked item not physically present within the portion of the item selection area. An augmented reality (AR) generator creates an AR image including a real-world image of the portion of the item selection area overlaid with graphical elements, including positive item indicators associated with high-interest items, negative item indicators associated with low-interest items, and/or un-stocked virtual items. The AR image is updated in real-time in response to user input, promotional data associated with one or more filtered item(s), and/or changes associated with the items within the FOV of the user device.

In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to monitoring the quality of packages loaded onto delivery vehicles for delivery to customers.
