A construction apparatus for forming modular construction components is disclosed. The construction apparatus comprises a first shell piece and a second shell piece that define an interior chamber defining a space for receiving a moldable material. The construction apparatus further comprises a separation device to move the first shell piece and the second shell piece from a closed configuration to an open configuration. The construction apparatus further comprises one or more cores within the interior chamber, one or more pins extending within the interior chamber, and one or more retaining plates for retaining the pins on the first shell piece. The interior chamber may be filled with the moldable material in the closed configuration and the moldable material may be cured. The construction apparatus may be shifted to the open configuration by the separation device and the pins and retaining plates may be used to extract the molded block from the first shell piece and/or second shell piece.

Construction apparatuses and methods of use thereof

A member for separating the access slot in the housing of a continuous electrical busway into a number of discrete openings includes a body portion formed from a non-conductive material. The body portion includes a portion structured to span across the access slot and thus divide the slot into more than one discrete opening while only blocking a small portion of the access slot.

A data and power distribution system for an electrical busway is provided. The system has a base plate and a data channel located adjacent to or proximate to the base plate. The data channel is structured to receive a number of data transport devices therein. An electrical busway is coupled to the base plate and a power channel is located adjacent to or proximate to the base plate. The power channel is structured to receive the electrical busway therein. The data channel is located proximate to the power channel and the base plate is a unitary component. The base plate may have a number of locations on the base plate that are structured to receive fasteners in order to directly attach the base plate to a mounting surface.

Data and power distribution system for an electrical busway

A power module for an electrical busway is provided. The power module has a holder with an aperture provided therein and a number of posts provided thereon. A plug-in adapter is received within the aperture of the holder. The plug-in adapter has a number of electrical contacts that are structured to engage the electrical busway. A number of connection mechanisms are coupled to at least one of the number of posts. The connection mechanisms are structured to engage a base plate. A cover plate is provided with the holder and the connection mechanisms coupled thereto. The base plate and the cover plate define a power channel with the plug-in adapter and the connection mechanisms located within the power channel. A power module in combination with an electrical busway coupled to a base plate that is structured to be directly attached to a mounting surface is also provided.

Power module for an electrical busway

A continuously installable/removable collector trolley includes a plurality of selectively extendable and retractable bearing assemblies. The bearing assemblies may be retracted to permit insertion and removal of the trolley into a conductor bar track at any point along the track. The bearing assemblies may then be extended to secure the trolley within the track, and to permit the bearings to roll along the track, permitting movement of the trolley.

An improved electrical bus system maximizes the distance that electrical current must travel between adjacent buses before a short can occur by placing the buses at the top portion of upside down U-shaped channels within the insulator, and connecting the adjacent U-shaped channels at their bottom ends. The buses are exposed at each end of a bus section, with a joint insulator frictionally secured between the bus insulator and housing to provide insulation for these exposed bus ends. Adjacent bus sections are electrically connected using a snap-on connector extending across the adjacent bus sections. If a neutral bus is included, for example, in a three-phase system, the neutral bus is located directly between a pair of live buses. Because the potential between a live bus and a neutral bus is one-half the potential between two live buses, the live buses may be positioned closer to the neutral bus than another live bus.

Connection assembly for electrical busways

A busbar connector for an electrical busway system is disclosed which includes shunt wires in an insulating housing and opposed spreader springs between the shunt wires that press contacts on the shunt wires against busbars in the busway when tapered screws are advanced between the spreader springs.

Busbar connector for plug-in busways

An electric distribution system which includes an elongated generally channel-shaped busway having a top wall and a pair of side walls with bus bars secured to the interior of the side walls. An electrical take-off is slidably secured within the busway with the take-off having a housing, a pair of spaced rotatable electrical contact supports having a circuit selection portion for rotating the contact support. At least one electrical contact passing through a passageway in the support and a spring which surrounds a portion of the support adjacent the passageway, urging the electrical contact in a first direction. The contact support is structured to be rotated to a first position wherein the electrical contact is disposed within the take-off housing and a second position wherein it projects outwardly into contact with a bus bar. The spring, in a preferred form, is a spring clip which is positioned in surrounding relationship with a portion of the electrical contact support and urges an electrical contact, in the form of a pin having its head received within a recess adjacent to the spring into intimate contact with the bus bars. Electrical wires connect the electrical contact and emerge from the housing of the take-off to facilitate transfer of electric current from the bus bars to the desired location.

Electric distribution systems and electrical take-off apparatus therefor

This invention is directed to an improved electrical power distribution system that provides continuous access for inserting take-off devices and also high current capacity. This invention provides enhanced electrical contact between the busbars and the stabs on take-off devices. This invention provides firm contact pressure and large contact surface area and allows a take-off device to be inserted at almost any point along the track. A unique retainer fits in a slot in the insulating support in the channel enclosure at each end of each busbar. The retainers are secured to the insulating support and thereby retain the busbar within the slot in the support.

Electrical power distribution system

An electrified pallet conveyor system for conveying appliances under electrical connection for testing, and which includes an electrical distribution contact shoe busway assembly. The busway consists of an elongated tubular housing having a continuous side access slot and a number of bus bar conductors mounted inside which coextend with the housing for conducting electricity. The electrical contact shoe assemblies are inserted at any desired location along the busway by inserting them into the access slot and twisting them 90.degree.. These contact shoe assemblies are prevented from further rotation by the confines of a closure strip which closes the side access slot of the housing off on opposite sides of the contact shoe assembly. A keying mechanism is also provided to prevent lateral movement of the contact shoe assembly in the bottom of the bus bar housing. The contact shoe protrudes from its housing under spring bias and its extent of protrusion is limited by a stop provided by a pin which passes through the shoe and extends therebeyond to engage the underside of a lip on the housing.
