A display system includes a display device and a data processing module. The display device is configured to display an image and has a processing profile associated therewith. The data processing module is remote from and operatively coupled to the display device and is configured to receive input image data for the image to be displayed and generate processed image data from the input image data based on the processing profile of the display device.

Image display system and method

One embodiment of a light modulator apparatus includes a first light modulator and a second light modulator diagonally offset from and in series with the first light modulator.

Light modulator

A light modulator includes a substrate, a transparent plate spaced from the substrate such that the transparent plate and the substrate define a cavity therebetween, at least one electrode formed on the substrate adjacent the cavity, and a liquid having an index of refraction greater than one disposed within the cavity. An interface of the liquid is oriented at an angle to a surface of the at least one electrode and oriented at an angle to a surface of the transparent plate. As such, light is adapted to pass through and refract at the interface of the liquid.

Battery current is indicated on a display element of a portable computing apparatus. Real time changes in battery current show the effects on the battery for given operations and configurations of the computing apparatus. The battery current is displayed as an icon. In various embodiments the icon indicates an absolute battery current value (e.g., in ampere or micro-ampere units), or a relative battery current value (e.g., a percentage relative to a predetermined reference current level). The icon appears on a display screen of the computing system or is a built-in dedicated indicator mounted into the apparatus case. A battery charge icon accompanies the battery current icon.

Indicator of battery current for portable devices

The apparatus allows the connection of two peripherals to a host device through one port and switching between them. The apparatus includes a sensor for sensing a data signal from the second peripheral device and a switch responsive to the sensor. The switch in a default, first state connects the first peripheral device to the host device and in a second state disconnects the first peripheral device therefrom. If a second peripheral device is connected to the apparatus, the sensor senses a data signal from the device and communicates this sensing to the switch. The switch responds by disconnecting the first device from the host device, leaving the second device solely connected to the host device. If the second peripheral device is disconnected from the apparatus, the switch reconnects the first peripheral device to the host device.
