A switch for premises electrical circuits provides wireless control compatible with at least one home automation control system technology. A single switch design can operate two-, three-, and four-way circuits without alteration, and without recourse to coordinating remote switches. The switch includes processor functions for restoring a previous state after power interruption, and for establishing a state commanded during the power interruption. The switch uses two single-pole, single-throw relays for positive safety lockout, and adjusts relay actuation timing with reference to power waveform zero-crossing for contact arc reduction with inductive, tungsten, and capacitive loads.

A room darkening screen apparatus includes a shade roll. A shade with a first end and a second end is provided wherein the first end is connected with the shade roll and the second end is connected with a bottom bar. A header is connected with the shade roll and a folding rod is connected with the header such that the folding rod, when released from the header, folds the shade.

An operating system for a motorized barrier includes an operator for controlling movement of the barrier between various positions. The system also includes a device such as a light kit or switch that controls a load, wherein the device is capable of also receiving wireless signals to control the kit or the load. And the transmitters are capable of generating wireless signals receivable by the operator and the device for independent operation of each.

A system for selectively changing the operating frequency of an RF receiver includes a receiver having a selection interface, and a frequency matching module removably attached to the barrier operator. After detecting an input on its selection interface, the receiver responsively changes its operating frequency from its current frequency to another frequency, as determined by the input. The frequency matching module then optimizes received signals of the same frequency as the receiver's operating frequency, thereby enhancing the receiver's range of signal detection.

An electric motor control having reduced electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions includes a motor controller, a switch, and a power converter. The motor controller upon receipt of a control signal causes the switch to toggle between two or more states. In one state the power converter produces a half-wave rectified output (50% power) and in another state produces full-wave rectified output (100% power). Thus, when an electric motor is connected to the output of the power converter, the motor's speed and other operating parameters can be controlled by motor controller by changing the state of the switch.
