Disclosed herein are various forms of hybrid baseball bats comprising a wood shell having a radial wall and an outer radial surface profile defining a baseball bat. The wood shell having a central core with a central surface thereon extending from a distal end of the bat. The central surface being profiled with a taper that in some embodiments extends entirely through to the proximal end. A fibrous construct is housed in the central core and infiltrated with an epoxy resin. In some forms, the fibrous construct is in the form of a sleeve. Disclosed are various manufacturing techniques for manufacturing hybrid baseball bats including a low pressure bladder method, a high pressure bladder method, and a centrifugal force method.

Hybrid baseball bat and construction methods

A structural component having an internal support structure extending between outer wall portions of the component with one or more compartments included within the support structure. The support structure has support members including internal walls positioned between and/or defined by the compartments. At least one support member connects between the outer wall portions of the component to enhance the structural integrity of the component. The structural component, including the internal support, are cast from a molten material, and in some cases the support members of the internal support structure are formed with a rectilinear configuration. In some cases the cast structural component is a container and the one or more compartments are configured to store a fluid, such as a gas or a liquid. One or more preforms can be used to form a container and may be retained or eliminated from the container after casting.

Core structured components, containers, and methods of casting

Power feed connections and sauna heating panels include a power feed having a first insulated conductor electrically coupled to a first terminal and a second insulated conductor electrically coupled to a second terminal. The first and second terminals are electrically coupled with at least one heating element. In some cases the power feed includes a supply portion, a connection portion, and an extension portion. The extension portion has one or more conductors in a twisted configuration extending away from the first and second terminals. In some cases the power feed includes an extension conductor portion coupled to a return conductor portion in a twisted configuration. The extension portion extends away from a second terminal past a second connection point and the return portion returns back to and connects to the second connection point at the second terminal. Methods for providing power connections to heating panels are also provided.

Sauna heating panel power distribution systems and methods

A device and related method temporarily restrict use of a control via one or more of lock out and tag out. The device includes a first and second portion. The first portion has a passageway adapted for the reception of a tie that extends through the first portion along a distance of passageway extension. The second portion has a tang and is movable relative to the first portion to move the tang transversely across the passageway relative to the direction of passageway extension to toggle the device between an opened position and a closed position. A tie may be received in the passageway and the reception of this tie in the passageway may prevent the device from being moved from the closed position back into the opened position due to inability of the tang of the second portion to be moved past the tie in the passageway of the first portion.

A fire suppression and annunciation system using a flexible conduit and a wire rope is provided. The wire rope may be connected to a knob assembly at a universal pull station and to a release mechanism of the fire suppression system. An operator may pull a handle of the knob assembly at the universal pull station, thereby activating the release mechanism to release fire suppression agent. A flexible conduit may house the wire rope along at least a part of the connection from the universal pull station to the release mechanism. A material on the liner of the flexible conduit and/or on the wire rope may be used to reduce the coefficient of friction of wire rope in the flexible conduit. The fire suppression system may further include a pulley block system connected to the universal pull station. The pulley block system may comprise bearings, and may lower the force necessary to activate the release mechanism.

Fire suppression system and emergency annunciation system

An infrared (IR) heating panel system comprising a thermally and electrically insulating substrate, a power buss, an at least one substrate supported IR heating element electrically coupled to the power buss, and a return element electrically coupled to the power buss and IR heating element. A printed shield substantially covers the IR heating element(s). The heating panel emits radiation when an electrical current is passed therethrough. The printed shielding layer is electrically coupled to a low impedance grounding matrix and configured to harness and shunt electrical field charges emitted by the IR heating element. Some embodiments include two or more IR heating panels coupled in an electrical parallel configuration supplied by one twisted and shielded power feed wire. Twisted two-wire shielded plus ground conductors are soldered to the corresponding IR heater solder points while simultaneously maintaining the twisted wire configuration for EMR cancellation and EF grounding shield conductivity.

Examples of infrared heating panels are described as having a non-linear power density profile along a length of the heating panel. The power density profile can include a first power density zone and a second power density zone, each zone corresponding to an area of the heating panel having a separate power density in response to a current flow. An infrared heating panel can include multiple heating elements arranged adjacently in a row and electrically connected together by at least two power buses extending perpendicularly across the heating elements. In one example, the first power density zone is located between a first power bus and an end of the heating elements. The second power density zone can be located between the first power bus and an opposite end of the heating elements. Infrared sauna systems and methods of generating heat for a sauna are also provided.

Infrared heating panels with non-linear heat distribution

Infrared heating panels are provided with an electrically insulative substrate that carries one or more infrared heating elements. Each heating element includes an elongated first segment attached to a first surface of the substrate and an elongated second segment electrically connected in series with the first segment. At least the first segment is a strip of an electrically resistive material adapted to emit infrared radiation in response to a current. The second segment is attached to the second surface of the substrate opposite from and in a parallel arrangement with the first segment such that a first current flowing through the heating element flows through the first segment in a first direction relative to the substrate and flows through the second segment in a second direction opposite the first direction. Saunas, heating systems, and methods for reducing electromagnetic emissions in an infrared sauna are also provided.
