A load management apparatus for use with an electrical system being powered by an electrical generator selectively adds and sheds loads on the electrical generator to prevent overloading of the electrical generator. The load management apparatus learns the load profile for each load during a learning mode and executes one or more load shed processes to control which electrical loads are loading the electrical generator.

A wireless annunciator for an electrical generator displays data regarding operation of the electrical generator to provide feedback to a remote observer regarding performance of the electrical generator in meeting the demands placed thereon. The wireless annunciator wirelessly receives transmissions from one or more wireless modules and displays information based on the data contained in the transmissions. The wireless modules may be associated with sensors, for example, that measure various performance parameters of the electrical generator, such as current draw, fuel level, fuel pressure, and the like. A load management controller can communicate with one or more load-side modules, either wirelessly or across wired links, to control operation of one or more loads to avoid overloading of the electrical generator.

Wireless annunciator for an electrical generator

A load control module is provided for use with a transfer switch apparatus that controls the delivery of standby electrical power to a load during utility power interruption. The load control module selectively brings loads online to receive standby electrical power to prevent overloading of the electric generator that is providing the standby electrical power. The frequency of the electrical power is also monitored and if a low frequency condition is detected, loads are taken offline (shed). A method to flag those loads that induce an overload condition is also provided.

An electrical generator has an engine that provides a mechanical output that is converted to electrical current by an alternator. The engine is started by a battery-powered motor starter. The battery is charged during running of the electrical generator by a portion of the electrical current output by the alternator. The battery is charged according to a charging profile based on the temperature of the battery at start up of the electrical generator.

A generator structure is provided for generating an AC power for a load. The generator structure includes a generator connectable to a load and an engine operatively connected to the generator for driving the same. A generator controller is operatively connected to the engine for controlling operation thereof and operatively connected to a generator for controlling the AC power generated thereby. Control system for stand-by electrical generator

A method is provided for controlling a bi-fuel generator set. The generator set includes a controller, a generator for generating electrical power, and an engine for driving the generator. A flow of gaseous fuel is provided, and operation of the engine and the generator is monitored. The flow of gaseous fuel is adjusted in response to various predetermined operating conditions on the engine. In addition, the flow of gaseous fuel may be selectively passed through a charge cooler remote from a radiator for the engine. The flow of gaseous fuel may be cooled by the charge cooler in response to certain operating conditions on the engine.

A grass-cutting tractor has an internal combustion engine, an apparatus which changes engine speed, and a generator. The apparatus includes a user-manipulated mechanism having a plurality of operating positions. Two of the operating positions are each identified by different grass-related mnemonics, e.g., NORMAL, HEAVY, MEDIUM, HIGH, REGULAR or TALL, which relate to the height of the grass to be cut and one of the positions corresponds to operation of the generator.

In accordance with the present invention, a system controller and method for monitoring and controlling a plurality of generator sets are provided. Each generator set generates electrical power and includes a generator communications link for connecting a generator set to a network. A user interface allows a user to select a generator set and set values for various predetermined operating parameters of the selected generator sets. Thereafter, a communications link connectable to the network transmits the user set values of the predetermined operating parameters to the selected generator set.

A transfer mechanism is provided for transferring the supply of power between a generator and utility source. The transfer mechanism includes a monitoring system for monitoring the power supplied by the utility source. The monitoring system starts the generator in response to a power outage from the utility source and stops the generator in response to the restoration of power from the utility source. A power relay has a utility input connectable to the utility source, a generator input connectable to the generator, an output connectable to a load, and a movable contact for selectively interconnecting one of the inputs to the output in response to the generation of power by the generator.

A photometer for measuring electromagnetic radiation absorption of a sample utilizing a source of the electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation is conducted from the source, to a sample sensor or sensors, and is passed through or scattered from, the sample utilizing a sample cell. The electromagnetic radiation is then directed to a detection system which determines absorbance of electromagnetic radiation by the sample at the sample cell. The detection system includes a beam splitter which receives the electromagnetic radiation and outputs first and second beams. A first detector having a first wavelength filter and a second detector having a second wavelength filter receives the two beams from the splitters. One detector may be employed to produce a reference signal. The remaining detector or detectors produce an output signal which is a representation of a characteristic, such as absorbance of the sample. The output signals are compared to a reference signal, and converted into a measurement of absorbance, transmission, reflectance, or turbidity.

A photometer for measuring electromagnetic radiation absorption of a sample utilizing a source of the electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation is conducted from the source, to a sample sensor, and is passed through the sample utilizing a sample cell. The electromagnetic radiation is then directed to a detection system which determines absorbance of electromagnetic radiation by the sample at the sample cell. The detection system includes a beam splitter which receives the electromagnetic radiation and outputs first and second beams. Photometer apparatus

An apparatus for identifying components associated with the liquid in an electrically non-conductive container utilizing a pair of electrodes. The container extends along a particular dimension such that the first electrode is placed adjacent the exterior of the container and at least a second electrode is placed adjacent the exterior of the container in spaced configuration from the first electrode and along the particular dimension of the container. A generated output signal is coupled into the liquid via the first electrode. The output signal is coupled to the second electrode after passing through the liquid component. The output waveforms are analyzed to determine the electrical characteristics of the liquid in order to identify a component within the container.
