A switch valve assembly controls first and second fluid flows in a hydraulic circuit defined by a valve body and a separator plate of a valve body assembly of a hydraulic control module. The valve body defines a fluid exit. The valve body is further defined as first and second body housings. The switch valve assembly includes a piston moveable between a first position for allowing the first fluid flow to flow and a second position for allowing the first and second fluid flows to flow into the fluid exit, and a biasing member coupled to the piston and biasing the piston from the second position toward the first position. The piston presents a regulating surface oriented with respect to the first axis. The first fluid flow fluidly engages the regulating surface in a manner that biases the piston into the first position in conjunction with the biasing member.

Switch valve assembly and hydraulic control module including same

A method is provided for the punching of a bridge break and thereafter sealing the bridge break during the injection molding process of the lead frame. The bridge breaking tool is placed over the bridge that is to be broken. The collar presses down on the circuit and the punch presses down on the bridge with enough force to form the bridge break. Once the bridge break is formed the punch is retracted from the cavity of the template and molten polymer is injected to flow around the ends of the bridge break. The bridge breaking tool's hold down collars and retracted punch form a molding area for molten polymer to flow over the bridge break and the exposed circuit area. The bridge breaking tool is retracted after the bridge break is encased in the cured molten polymer and the cured molten polymer forms a lead frame structure.

Method of overmolding circuit

A method for controlling a solenoid using a single coil solenoid for both course and fine adjustment. A resistor or series of resistors may be used in parallel/for current controlled solenoids or in series for voltage controlled solenoids for allowing course or finite control of the solenoids.

Dual gain variable control system

An automotive fluid control system with pressure balanced solenoid valve &lsqb;,&rsqb; and fluid mixing housing &lsqb;,&rsqb; is disclosed. The solenoid valve &lsqb;,&rsqb; is preferably used in an EGR (exhaust gas circulation) fluid control system, although the valve may be used in other vehicle fluid control systems, such as an engine block cooling liquid control system. A poppet member &lsqb;,&rsqb; of an EGR valve is pressured balanced such that only a light spring &lsqb;,&rsqb; and armature &lsqb;,&rsqb; are needed to control the positioning of the poppet member &lsqb;,&rsqb;. Magnetic and inductance sensors &lsqb;,&rsqb; are used to accurately determine the position of the poppet member. The fluid mixing housing &lsqb;,&rsqb; homogeneously mixes first and second fluids. A portion of a main first fluid flow is funneled off and mixed in the housing &lsqb;,&rsqb; with a second fluid prior to being returned to the main fluid flow. Ideally, the housing &lsqb;,&rsqb; has a circumferentially extending channel &lsqb;,&rsqb; for intercepting, funnelling and mixing the captured portion of the main first fluid flow with the second fluid flow. Also, a solenoid subassembly &lsqb;,&rsqb; is disclosed which can mate with a variety of different valve housings &lsqb;,&rsqb; and which is adapted to mount on various engine configurations.
