A wireless sensor for an associated machine or machine part which includes a communications module that wirelessly transmits data related to the associated machine or machine part. The communications module is mounted on the sensor and the sensor is disposed under the bottom side of the control circuitry. A sensor is configured to measure one or more properties of the associated machine or machine part.

Wireless sensor

A manifold system that includes a gas cylinder assembly that includes an outer tube and a cylinder sleeve, and wherein atomized non-solid lubricant that flows into the cylinder sleeve of the gas cylinder assembly is used to at least partially or fully lubricate an inner surface of an interior chamber of the cylinder sleeve during the operation of the gas cylinder assembly.

The communications module is mounted on the sensor and the sensor is disposed under the bottom side of the control circuitry. A sensor is configured to measure one or more properties of the associated machine or machine part. The wireless sensor can be used with a smart device app such that information from the wireless sensor can be received and displayed on the smart device.

Wireless sensor with beacon technology

A controllable force cushion device that can be programmed to provide a variable and/or pulsating force that can be used in any application where force control is desirable. The frequency of the pulsation can be adjusted to suit different applications and/or circumstances (e.g., forming of sheet metals in die applications, etc.). The cushion can comprise one or more manifolds containing hydraulic cylinders that can be compressed during operation pushing fluid through a proportional relief valve that can be controlled by a motion control device, thereby creating a desired force. Material (e.g., sheet metal, etc.) flow can be controlled by using a gap control method. In use, the variable pulsating, gap control, auto-learning press cushion device of the present invention can optionally be mounted to the underside of a press bolster and can be used in conjunction with a stamping press.

A fluid cylinder mechanism () equipped with a cylinder () having a base end () and an open end (), and a piston () having a flange portion () disposed inside the cylinder and a rod portion () that passes through the open end of the cylinder, in which a space inside the cylinder is partitioned by the flange portion of the piston into a first pressured chamber () on a side of the base end and a second pressurized chamber () on a side of the open end, is characterized by including: a first flow path () that permits flow of a fluid from the first pressurized chamber to the second pressurized chamber; a second flow path () that permits flow of the fluid from the second pressurized chamber to the first pressurized chamber; and an opening and closing means () for opening and closing the second flow path.

Fluid cylinder mechanism

A die separator cylinder for use in separating first and second portions of a metal forming die set comprises a housing including a bore. A piston is adapted to reciprocate in the bore between an extended position and a depressed position. The die separator cylinder further includes gas flow paths leading to and from the bore that define asymmetrical gas flow rates relative to each other so that said when the bore is charged with an inert gas, the inert gas biases the piston to the extended position with a force that varies depending upon a time interval elapsed since the piston moved from the depressed position to the extended position. As such, the cylinder is configured so that during opening and closing of the press for metal-forming operations, the piston moves inward and outward with reduced force, while during periods of inactivity, the piston is biased outward with maximum force sufficient to separate the die halves of the die set to protect the die surfaces and to facilitate stacking of the die set for storage. The die separator cylinder can be configured as a stand-alone self-contained cylinder or can be configured as part of a hosed system or the like.

Die separator cylinder

A high-pressure, inert gas cushion assembly for the ram or bolster of a metal stamping press includes a manifold having fluid-flow passages defined therein, along with a plurality of cylinder mounting locations each in communication with at least one of the fluid-flow passages. A plurality of cushion cylinders are located respectively in the cylinder mounting locations. Each cylinder includes a body having an inner wall that defines a bore of diameter D. A piston is located in the bore and includes opposite inner and outer faces, wherein the outer face is oriented outwardly relative to the bore and manifold. A fluid seal is supported on the piston and is slidably engaged with the wall defining the bore. One or more bearings are supported on the piston and slidably engaged with the inner wall that defines the bore. The bearing(s) support the piston slidably in the bore for reciprocal sliding movement between extended and retracted positions. The bearing(s) define a bearing-length L that is less than or equal to 40% of said bore diameter D.

Cushion and cushion cylinder for ram or bolster of a press

A fluid spring assembly. The spring assembly preferably includes a body that slidably supports a piston that is attached to a piston rod. The piston serves to define a fluid chamber within the body that is charged with a pressurized fluid medium. The piston is retained within the body by a rigid retainer member. A biasing member is provided between the retaining member and the piston for resisting the force generated by the fluid medium within the fluid chamber.

Low contact force spring

A cushion assembly includes a lower end wall which is at least partially enclosed by a tubular cylindrical outer wall. An upper end wall is also partially enclosed by the outer wall. A tubular cylindrical inner wall extends between recesses in the lower end wall and the upper end wall. A piston is disposed within the inner wall and is movable along the inner wall toward the upper end wall under the influence of gas pressure. The piston is movable along the inner wall toward the lower end wall of the influence of force applied against the piston during operation of a press. A passage is formed between an end portion of the inner wall and the lower end wall to conduct a flow of lubrication liquid and gas to lubricate the piston.

Cushion assembly and method

A pressure side integrated air filter assembly for a turbocharged engine includes an air filter carrier which is designed and arranged to receive an air filter element and which is adapted to mount to the intake manifold of the turbocharged engine. The air filter carrier which receives an air filtering element is disposed within the intake manifold and the intake manifold cover serves as the air filter cover. A peripheral flange on the air filter carrier is used to support the air filter assembly by being clamped between the intake manifold cover and the intake manifold. This peripheral flange substitutes for the intake manifold gasket. The air filter carrier and the air filter element each have a trapezoidal shape in cross section as a way to conserve space within the intake manifold. The air filter element is a single panel of filtering media which is fan-folded with a first series of folds disposed adjacent the intake manifold cover and an alternating second series of folds disposed at the outlet side of the air filter carrier. The integrated air filter assembly is mounted within the intake manifold and may be used as a security filter with a cannister filter positioned upstream from the turbocharger or with a precleaner air filter disposed upstream from the turbocharger.
