An assay method and device can perform at least one (e.g., at least two) assays on a single aliquot of a sample liquid. The device can mix a sample liquid with assay reagents including magnetically susceptible particles. The device is configured to create a sample liquid-air interface with the sample liquid. The magnetically susceptible particles can be located (via an applied magnetic field) at the liquid-air interface when a second liquid contacts the interface to form a liquid-liquid interface. The magnetic particles travel across the liquid-liquid interface to the second liquid. The magnetically susceptible particles are configured to trans-port an analyte across the interface into the second liquid. An assay for the analyte is performed in the second liquid. An assay for another analyte can also be performed in the sample liquid.

Assay device and method

A device for receiving a sample of liquid, such as a sample of bodily liquid which is to be subjected to further analysis, may include a body having at least a major surface and a minor surface. A sample-receiving chamber may be located in the body and may have an inlet end which opens into the major and minor surfaces of the body. A conduit may be located in the body, extending from the outlet end of the chamber, and may be arranged so as to allow the liquid to pass from the outlet end into the conduit by capillary action.

There is provided an antibody granule, consisting essentially of one or more antibodies, or fragments derived thereof, granulated with an alkali metal salt. Also provided is a process for preparing said antibody granules. The granules can be used in an enzymatic stain bleaching or anti dye-transfer composition.

There is provided a targeted bleaching composition comprising an organic substance which forms a complex with a transition metal, the complex catalyzing bleaching of a substrate by a precursor selected from atmospheric oxygen and/or a peroxyl species. The complex is bound to a recognizing portion having a high binding affinity for stains present on fabrics.

A multivalent antigen binding protein comprises a single polypeptide chain comprising, in series, two or more single domain binding units which are preferably heavy chain variable domains derived from an immunoglobulin naturally devoid of light chains. There is provided a method of delivering a benefit agent whereby a benefit agent is first loaded to a surface and subsequently unloaded and transferred and delivered to a second surface. More in particular, the benefit agent is first loaded onto a garment during a laundering process, and subsequently delivered to another surface. The benefit agents can be fragrance agents, perfumes, colour enhancers, fabric softening agents, polymeric lubricants, photoprotective agents, latexes, resins, dye fixative agents, encapsulated materials, antioxidants, insecticides, soil repelling agents, soil release agents, and cellulose fibers.

Method of delivering a benefit agent

A method of delivering a benefit agent to a selected area of a fabric for exerting a predetermined activity, wherein the area is pre-treated with a multi-specific binding molecule which has a high binding affinity to said area through one specificity and is capable of binding to said benefit agent through another specificity, followed by contacting said pre-treated area with said benefit agent, to enhance said pre-determined activity to said area. Preferably, the binding molecule is an antibody or fragment thereof, or a fusion protein comprising a cellulose binding domain and a domain having a high binding affinity to another ligand which is directed to said benefit agent. The method is useful for stain removal, perfume delivery, and treating collars and cuffs for wear.

A method of delivering a benefit agent to fabric for exerting a pre-determined activity, wherein the fabric is pre-treated with a multi-specific binding molecule which has a high binding affinity to the fabric through one specificity and is capable of binding to the benefit agent through another specificity, followed by contacting the pre-treated fabric with the benefit agent, to enhance the pre-determined activity to the fabric.
