A detector system has a first detector configured to detect a first high-frequency signal having amplitude-modulated ('AM') noise to produce a first detected signal having at least a first detected AM noise signal component and a demodulated signal component and a second detector configured to detect a second high-frequency signal having the AM noise to produce a second detected signal having at least a second detected AM noise signal component. An algebraic combining network combines the first detected signal and the second detected signal to cancel the first detected AM noise signal component with the second detected AM noise signal component to produce an output signal including the demodulated signal component.

Noise-canceling down-converting detector

A field disturbance sensing system has an antenna, an oscillator producing a high-frequency signal, a first detector circuit, a second detector circuit, a combining network configured to couple the high-frequency signal to the antenna, and to couple the high-frequency signal and a reflected high-frequency signal to the first detector and to the second detector. An algebraic combining network sums a first detected signal having first detected high-frequency signal and a first detected reflected signal from the first detector circuit and a second detected signal having second detected high-frequency signal and a second detected reflected signal from the second detector circuit to produce a detected output signal. The first detected reflected signal is added to the second detected reflected signal and the first detected high-frequency signal is subtracted from the second detected high-frequency signal. A controller configured to convert the detected output signal to a speed between the antenna and a target.

Continuous-wave field disturbance sensing system

A method of down-converting couples a first high-frequency signal to a first detector and to a second detector. An antenna receives a signal and the received signal is provided to at least the first detector. The high-frequency signal is detected to produce a first detected signal including a first detected high-frequency signal and a demodulated signal. The high-frequency signal is concurrently detected to produce a second detected high-frequency signal. The second detected signal is subtracted from the first detected signal so as to cancel amplitude-modulated noise on a detected signal output.

A local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) switch is presented which aggregates LAN traffic onto SONET/SDH transport streams in a programmable manner. The system can concentrate Ethernet packets and map the data onto SONET streams at data rates varying from STS-1 to STS-12C. Depending on the bandwidth available in the WAN interface, different numbers and combinations of STS-n streams can be formed. The system allows for efficient and flexible mapping of LAN traffic onto a WAN for transport over fiber optic networks.

The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for automatically provisioning data stitching circuits within a network element (NE). Data circuits are defined as the interface cards within NE that are receiving a particular data stream. Data stitching circuits are defined as data circuits that are provided with a destination point and a next destination point for each interface card. The NE creates a data-stitching matrix that identifies a path (i.e., destination and next destination) for the data stream to follow. The matrix is used by a cross-connect to reroute the data stream around one or more inoperable interface cards. When interface cards within the NE request to be provisioned into or out of a data stitching circuit the NE automatically updates the data-stitching matrix.

Method and apparatus for automatically provisioning data circuits

Integrated circuit bus integrity may be verified without specialized test equipment. In a diagnostic mode, the integrated circuit may output a series of predetermined activation patterns onto the data bus to verify integrity of the data bus. Further bus verification may be provided by an address capture mode where address bus contents are reflected onto the data bus. A microprocessor may control diagnostic mode operation.

Automatic testing of microprocessor bus integrity

The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for rerouting high-speed telecommunications signals within a network element (NE). Data circuits are defined as the interface cards within the NE that receive a particular data stream. In the event that one or more of the interface cards associated with a particular data circuit is removed, the NE can reroute the data stream so that the data circuit is maintained. The rerouting is accomplished by creating a stitching table, which defines the previous stitch and next stitch for each port on a cross-connect unit. Thus, when one stitch is lost, the table enables the apparatus to reroute the data stream around the lost stitch. That is, the data circuit is stitched together when one or more elements of the data circuit are removed.
