Human placental tissue graft products, methods, and apparatuses

Clamping door trays are presented including: an open channel tray; a closed channel tray slidingly engaged with the open channel tray; a clamping mechanism positioned on an underside of the clamping door tray, the clamping mechanism for drawing the open channel tray and the closed channel tray together; and a support plate located along an inside bottom surface of the closed channel tray and secured through to the open channel tray. In some embodiments, the open channel tray includes: an L-shaped channel having a closed distal end and an open proximal end; and a rim located along a portion of a top edge of the L-shaped channel, the rim proceeding from the closed distal end, along an outside edge to the open proximal end.

Provided herein is a positive air pressure facemask, a multi-staged filter system for a positive air pressure facemask, and exemplary methods for replacing the filter system of a positive air pressure facemask while the mask is in continuous use and actively worn by a user. The multi-staged filter system includes a front filter assembly having a plurality of removable filter layers for collecting debris and particulate matter on the exterior of the filter system, a blower assembly, and at least two staged filter inserts contained in the housing of the filter system. The staged filter inserts are easily replaceable and can be changed without requiring the user to remove the facemask or to be exposed to the ambient air.

A method is provided for preparing a tissue implant for implantation. The method includes treating a pericardium tissue material, which has been harvested from a donor and rendered essentially acellular, with a chlorine dioxide treatment solution; and thereafter treating the pericardium tissue material with an antioxidant solution, which comprises ascorbic acid or a salt thereof.

A cover and method for covering openings an particularly openings initially intended to cover door knob openings and lock set openings of a modified door which are required to be covered for aesthetic and security reasons. In one embodiment, the cover for a door knob hole is an integral stack of disks wherein the largest outermost disk covers the opening when centered by the second disk that fits snugly inside the opening. A bridge fits inside the lock-set cavity to which a cover over the lock cavity is bolted.

A tool for aligning a door hinge with the edge of the door to which it is mounted comprising a bar having a wrench on each end of the bar. The faces of each jaw of the respective wench are contoured to fit around a single knuckle of the hinge. The bar has a slit arranged to permit the jaws to open or close around the surface of a knuckle of the door hinge. A screw through the bar is arranged to permit tightening the jaws onto the knuckle when it is required to apply force to the hinge or loosen the tool when it is required to slip the tool off the hinge.

This invention relates to the sterilization and preservation of tissue for storage. More specifically, the invention relates to a method of using a solution to form a preserved tissue. The solution includes a radical scavenger at a concentration believed to reduce the damage to the tissue that could otherwise occur during sterilization with ionizing radiation.

A closed, sterile pulsatile flow loop for studying tissue valves. The system provides both a tool to examine heart valve leaflet fibroblast function and differentiation as these are affected by mechanical loading, as well as an apparatus to provide heart valves seeded with suitable cells. The sterile pulsatile flow system provides a left heart duplicator, which exposes viable tissue valves to a dynamic flow environment imitating that of the aortic valve.

This disclosure includes a method for generating a functional hybrid bioprosthesis. Tissue formed naturally of interstitial collagens is treated to kill native cells and remove potentially immunologically active soluble molecules. Then it may be treated sequentially with extracellular matrix adhesion factor, extracellular matrix glycosaminoglycan, and growth factor appropriate to the cell type required to function within the matrix, and incubating the transplant tissue matrix with cells that are either allogeneic or autologous for the recipient thereby imparting to the matrix the characteristics of the cell type and tissue selected. Tissues with a variety of functional bioactivities can thus be formed in vitro prior to graft transplantation or implantation which will exhibit reduced or no stimulation of an immunological response in the recipient.
