An axle suspension system and a method of manufacture. The axle suspension system may have an axle, an axle wrap, and a weld seam. The axle wrap may receive the axle and may have a first end portion and a second end portion that overlaps the first end portion. A weld seam may couple the first end portion to the second end portion.

An axle alignment system for an axle assembly. The axle alignment system may include a bracket assembly and an alignment plate. The alignment plate may be moveably disposed on the bracket assembly with one or more fasteners that may move along one or more slots that may be provided with the bracket assembly and/or the alignment plate.

The trailing arm assembly may include a lower portion and an upper portion. The lower portion may have a lower intermediate wall. A trailer slider locking system includes body rails longitudinally slidable relative to a suspension frame side rail. The body rails have holes providing multiple suspension positions. A pin locking system includes a pin moveable between retracted and locked positions. An end of the pin is received in one of the holes in the locked position. The pins have tapered ends so that the pin will extend through the body rail hole prior to advancing to the fully locked position.

Trailer slider locking system

A trailing arm suspension includes a trailing arm body having an axle mount portion that is attached to an axle wrap. The axle wrap includes at least one internal weld window to secure the axle wrap to an axle. In one example, the internal weld window is positioned within an internal cavity defined by the trailing arm body and axle wrap includes an external weld window located external of the trailing arm body. In one example, the trailing arm suspension includes a reinforcement bracket that is attached to both the trailing arm body and the axle wrap. In one example, a spring pedestal includes a support plate at one end of trailing arm body and a side wall portion that extends downwardly from the support plate to be attached to the axle wrap. In one example, the axle wrap includes a weld window having a V-shaped lower edge surface.

Top mount trailing arm suspension

A trailer slider locking system includes body rails longitudinally slidable relative to a suspension frame side rail. The body rails have holes providing multiple suspension positions. A pin locking system includes a pin moveable between retracted and locked positions. An end of the pin is received in one of the holes in the locked position. The pin has a first centerline and the holes have a second centerline. The end of the pin extends through the hole with the centerlines being offset from one another in the locked position. The pins have tapered ends so that the pin will extend through the body rail hole prior to advancing to the fully locked position.

A trailing arm assembly for a suspension includes at least first and second cast components. The first and second cast components are welded to each other to substantially surround an outer perimeter of an axle member. The first cast component is then welded to one side of the axle member at a first weld and the second cast component is welded to an opposite side of the axle member at a second weld. One of the first and second cast components includes an integrally formed air spring seat and the other of the first and second cast components includes an integrally formed bushing housing for connection to a frame.

Cast trailing arm assembly for trailer suspension

A trailer slider locking system includes body rails longitudinally slidable relative to a suspension frame side rail. The body rails have holes providing multiple suspension positions. A pin locking system includes a pin moveable between retracted and locked positions. An end of the pin is received in one of the holes in the locked position. The pin has a first centerline and the holes have a second centerline. The end of the pin extends through the hole with the centerlines being offset from one another in the locked position. The pin has a tapered end so that the pin will extend through the body rail hole prior to advancing to the fully locked position.

A trailer slider assembly includes a handle that moves a trailer slider locking mechanism between an unlocked position and a locked position. A suspension side rail has a retaining feature that holds the handle in the unlocked position. A release mechanism releases the handle from the retaining feature in response to a release of a parking brake. This prevents a vehicle from driving off with the trailer slider locking mechanism in the unlocked position.

Air cylinder pull handle release

A trailing arm assembly for a suspension includes first and second axle wraps. The first and second axle wraps are welded to each other to substantially surround an outer perimeter of an axle member. The first axle wrap is then welded to one side of the axle member at a first weld area and the second axle wrap is welded to an opposite side of the axle member at a second weld area. The first axle wrap includes a spring seat and the second axle wrap includes an arm body with a bushing receiver portion at one arm end. A bushing tube attached to the bushing receiver portion. The first weld area comprises a single window weld and the second weld area comprises first and second window welds that are positioned on opposing sides of the arm body.

A trailer slider system includes a body rail that slides longitudinally relative to a suspension frame side rail. One of the rails includes holes that provide multiple suspension positions. The trailer slider system also includes a pin connection assembly having a pin that is arranged to extend into one of the holes in a locked position and retract out of the hole in an unlocked position. A cam is coupled for movement with the pin connection assembly. A tube is coupled with the cam to rotate as the pin moves between the locked and unlocked positions. A pneumatic actuator is coupled with the tube for selectively rotating the tube to move the cam which in turn moves the pin, between the locked and unlocked positions.

Pneumatic slider suspension locking pin system

A sliding suspension includes a plurality of locking pins that are selectively moved between extended and retracted positions to allow adjustment of the sliding suspension relative to a trailer frame structure. A lever is fixed to a tube that is supported by a cross-member of a slider frame. A cam is supported on the tube for rotational movement relative to the tube. Laterally spaced locking pins each include a pin connection link that is coupled to the cam. Each locking pin includes a single compression spring, and each pin connection link includes a slot, which cooperate with each other to provide independent pin extension at each pin location. A torsion spring is coaxial with the tube and includes one spring end that is coupled to the lever and another spring end that is coupled to the cam. The torsion spring allows the lever to be decoupled from the locking pins if one or more pins are stuck such that the pull handle can be pulled and locked into place to allow adjustment.
