A mobile tower for transportation to and rapid deployment at remote sites where the mobile tower can be engaged with the ground, the mobile tower including an extendable and retractable tower secured to a mobile support structure including a frame having a plurality of rapidly deployable outriggers, wherein the tower includes three series of pivotally interconnected tower sections or segments, sections or segments of which engage with segments of each of the other series when the tower is assembled; the mobile tower including a plurality of guy wires secured between the extendable and retractable tower and the respective outriggers to stabilize the tower after the tower is assembled. The guy wires are preferably secured to the extendable and retractable tower at first and second connecting positions that are displaced from one another about an outer perimeter. Methods of deploying the mobile tower are also disclosed.

Mobile tower for transportation and remote deployment

An extendable and retractable column which is formed from at least three linked sections or chains. The linked sections include a plurality of individual segments linked end to end. As the linked segments are extended, each of the individual segments of the linked chains engage individual segments of adjacent linked sections to form a column. As the linked sections are retracted, each of the individual segments of the linked sections disengage from the individual segment of the adjacent linked sections and the individual linked sections may be rolled up into a multi-sided form for compact storage.

The guy wires are preferably secured to the rigging apparatus at first and second connecting positions that are displaced from one another about an outer perimeter of the rigging apparatus. Methods of deploying the mobile tower are also disclosed.

Bale latch for extendable/retractable support column

A battery terminal is configured to be secured to a battery case and includes a terminal assembly, and a ring. The terminal assembly includes an insert having a threaded bore, and an outer metal portion having a base with an annular flange configured to engage the inner surface of the case. The terminal further includes an anti-turn system with a first set of angularly-spaced bosses with intervening slots formed on a boss on the case, a second set of angularly-spaced bosses with intervening slots on a first side of the ring facing the case, which are complementary to the first set to form interlocking features. A set of recesses on the opposite side of the ring is configured to receive spun-over lead material during final finishing to form another pair of interlocking features. The exterior spun battery terminal eliminates corrosion that would otherwise occur due to cold worked lead contacting acid.

Battery terminal and method for making the same

A fuel tank assembly for a vehicle includes a tank shell having a first half shell and a second half shell. The fuel tank assembly also includes a plurality of column supports disposed between and attached to the first half shell and the second half shell. The fuel tank assembly further includes a cradle baffle disposed between the first half shell and the second half shell and attached to the column supports. The cradle baffle has at least one compliant joint disposed between a pair of the column supports to allow the cradle baffle to distort when a force is applied to the tank shell.
