The system includes a user interface providing clinical content to a user and accepting user input with respect to clinical content. The system also includes a graphical summary representation of a patient-related clinical data value. The graphical summary representation has one or more visible characteristics indicating an importance of the patient-related clinical data value. The system also includes a thumbnail trend view providing a graph of data elements used to provide the patient-related clinical data value shown in the graphical summary representation. The system further includes an originating data view retrieving and displaying, via the user interface, a source document corresponding to at least one data element on the graph shown in the thumbnail trend view. The various views are displayed via the user interface based on user manipulation of a cursor with respect to the displayed views.

Method and apparatus for dynamic multiresolution clinical data display

Certain embodiments present a system for navigating medical images of a patient file stored in an image database. An image labeler labels medical images based upon whether the images have previously been displayed on an interface. The system also provides an image search engine that searches the images based on the labels. The image search engine generates a subset of images from a larger group of medical images within a database based upon the labels. The interface includes a graphical meter that corresponds to medical images that have not previously been displayed on the interface. The graphical meter may enumerate the quantity of images that have not previously been displayed. The graphical meter may also illustrate the proportion of images that have not previously been displayed. The graphical meter may include a hyperlink that points to an image that has not previously been displayed. The graphical meter may also include a hyperlink that points to a location containing the images that have not been previously displayed.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for improved clinical workflow using wireless communication. A system for remote image display includes a data source with image data, wherein the data source is capable of transmitting the image data. The system also includes an identifiable display device capable of displaying image data transferred from the data source and a portable device capable of identifying the display device and requesting image data transfer from the data source to the display device without the transfer of the image data between the portable device and the data source. The system may also include an access point for relaying communication between the portable device and the data source. Communication between the portable device, the data source, and/or the display may include wireless communication, for example.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for using medical perspectives to improve medical workflow. Certain embodiments of a system for using medical perspectives for improved screening analysis include a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) workstation capable of being used for reviewing images and at least one display capable of displaying images for review. The system also includes a default perspective including a first plurality of images organized according to a default criterion, wherein the default perspective is used to review the first plurality of images via the PACS workstation. The system includes one or more additional perspectives organizing image sets according to certain criteria. A user may select one or more of the additional perspectives for reviewing image sets or subsets via the PACS workstation. The system may also include tools and reporting templates for use with images within the perspectives.

System and method for perspective-based procedure analysis

Film-based images can be scanned in a conventional manner, then digitally designated and 'cut' from the digital file resulting from the scan. These selected images can then be collated and registered as individual images, or slices in certain contexts, allowing them to be assembled in various presentations, such as in stack mode with digitally-acquired images. The resulting collated files can then be stored by the user as a new series of images. The technique thus greatly facilitates the access and comparison of the images regardless of the originating medium.

Viewers may configure where the annotations are displayed and may associate priorities with the reason codes such that annotations of interest may be displayed more prominently or accessibly. In instances where the number of annotations exceeds some configurable threshold, the excess annotations may be hidden unless requested.

Voice commands may be used to facilitate data acquisition, data retrieval, order entry, dictation, audio playback, voice over IP conferencing, paging, and/or data analysis, for example. A plurality of connections may be established between the wireless, voice-enabled device and a plurality of data systems. WiFi wireless technology or other standard for voice and data transfer between devices without use of cables, for example, may be used to facilitate hands-free hygienic, centralized operation of a plurality of data systems using the wireless, voice-enabled device and the interface.

A system for hygienic input of data into a medical information system is provided. In one embodiment of the system, a computer terminal, a mobile wireless input tray, a mobile wireless interactive visual display system, and a wireless headset are used. During a medical procedure, the mobile input tray, the mobile display system, and the wireless headset may be positioned in an operating room near a surgeon or other medical practitioner. The mobile input tray, the mobile display system, and the wireless headset may be used to access patient medical information through the computer terminal. The mobile input tray, the mobile display system, and the wireless headset communicate amongst and between each other through wireless communication links. A synchronized image manipulation system and method are disclosed. The image manipulation system includes a computer device for controlling the operation of the system, at least one display screen for displaying a plurality of generally similarly shaped objects, and an operator control device for receiving operator input. The plurality of generally similarly shaped objects include a plurality of view ports that display at least a portion of the plurality of generally similarly shaped objects. The operator control device controls the operation of the system in accordance with the operator input and at least one image manipulation function. A system for tracking a subject of interest in a location is disclosed. The system is used with subjects who have an identification device having a unique signal identifier. The system comprises a wireless proximity detector capable of detecting the signal identifier; a monitoring unit that monitors the proximity detector by monitoring which signal identifier has been detected by the proximity detector, the monitoring unit generating a data signal representative of which signal identifier has been detected; and a data output unit that generates location data based upon the data signal. The information can be displayed graphically or as a list and can be sorted by various criteria. The display can provide many options to make the display more useful. Also disclosed is a method for tracking a subject of interest using a unique signal identifier. Additionally, a display to be used with the system is disclosed.
