A multi-level information display system graphically represents clinical information for a user. The system includes a user interface providing clinical content to a user and accepting user input with respect to clinical content. The system also includes a graphical summary representation of a patient-related clinical data value. The graphical summary representation has one or more visible characteristics indicating an importance of the patient-related clinical data value. The system also includes a thumbnail trend view providing a graph of data elements used to provide the patient-related clinical data value shown in the graphical summary representation. The system further includes an originating data view retrieving and displaying, via the user interface, a source document corresponding to at least one data element on the graph shown in the thumbnail trend view. The various views are displayed via the user interface based on user manipulation of a cursor with respect to the displayed views.

Method and apparatus for dynamic multiresolution clinical data display

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of monitoring an environment comprising: monitoring at least one data stream wherein the data stream is a data stream in the environment; detecting a specified event from the data stream; and triggering a response to the specified event. Method and apparatus for generating cable occupancy volumes

A method of determining surfaces of swept volumes, which defines a region reserved for the removal of an object, or the motion of an object, is determined employing implicit modeling. A definition of an object and the trajectory in which it is to be moved are provided to the swept surface display device. An implicit model is created by determining shortest distance from each voxel of a object volume to a surface point of the object. A workspace volume has voxels each initialized with distances which are much larger than any distance envisioned. The implicit model space voxels are transformed relative to the workspace voxels according to the trajectory at a time t. Workspace voxels are updated with corresponding implicit model space voxels when the value of the implicit model space voxel is lower than the workspace voxel value. The implicit model space voxels are transformed relative to the workspace voxels for another time t and the number of workspace voxels are again updated. This process is repeated for a number of times, t, to result in workspace voxel values which reflect the closest each voxel would be to the surface of the object as it is swept through the trajectory. All workspace voxels having a predefined distance value are identified and a surface is constructed. This is the surface of the swept volume having a clearance defined by the predefined distance.

Implicit modeling of swept volumes and swept surfaces

A mounting means is adapted to hold a large component while it is being bolted to a frame. A hook is attached to the component and adapted to suspend the component in a first position. A bracket is attached to the frame and is adapted to receive the hook, hold the component in the first position, and align the component with a mounting bolt. The component is then drawn to a second, installed, position as the mounting bolt is tightened.
