A high-resiliency polyurethane foam comprises the reaction product of an isocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component. The isocyanate-reactive component comprises a first polyether polyol in an amount of greater than about 5 parts by weight and a second polyether polyol in an amount of less than about 80 parts by weight, with parts by weight based on the total weight of the isocyanate-reactive component. The high-resiliency polyurethane foam has a resilience of about 45 to about 70% when tested in accordance with ASTM D3574-11. A method of forming a high-resiliency polyurethane foam includes the steps of providing the isocyanate and the isocyanate-reactive component and reacting the isocyanate and the isocyanate-reactive component.

A flexible polyurethane foam article exhibiting flame resistance comprises the reaction product of an isocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component comprising a polyol reactive with the isocyanate. The isocyanate and the isocyanate-reactive component are reacted in the presence of a blowing agent and a phospholene oxide. A method of producing the flexible polyurethane foam article includes the step of reacting the isocyanate and the isocyanate-reactive component in the presence of the blowing agent and an effective amount of the phospholene oxide to form the flexible polyurethane foam article which is flame resistant.

A graft polyol includes a natural oil including at least 50% by weight of a natural oil polyol. Particles are dispersed in the natural oil and comprise the reaction product of a macromer polyol, a polymerizable monomer, a chain transfer agent, and a free radical initiator. The macromer polyol and the polymerizable monomer react in the presence of the natural oil. The graft polyol is formed by providing the natural oil and providing the macromer polyol, the chain transfer agent, the free radical initiator, and the polymerizable monomer. The natural oil, the polymerizable monomer, the macromer polyol, the chain transfer agent, and the free radical initiator are combined, and the polymerizable monomer, the macromer polyol, the chain transfer agent, and the free radical initiator react to form particles dispersed in the natural oil.

A resin composition includes a compound having at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and a polyurethane encapsulated particle including a core particle and a polyurethane layer disposed about the core particle. The resin composition may be used in an article and in a method of making the article. The article includes the reaction product of the resin composition and an isocyanate that are reacted in the presence of the polyurethane encapsulated particle. The method of making the article includes providing the core particle in a vessel. The method also includes introducing and combining a polyol component and an isocyanate component to encapsulate the core particle. The method further includes introducing and combining the resin composition and the isocyanate, in the presence of the polyurethane encapsulated particle, to form the article.

The invention pertains to flame retardant flexible polyurethane foams prepared by reacting a polyether polyol and an organic isocyanate in the presence of a blowing agent and incorporating melamine and an effective amount of another flame retardant. The organic isocyanate comprises carbodiimide-uretonimine-modified diphenylmehtane diisocyanate and toluene diisocyanate. The polyurethane foams exceed conventional flame retardancy standards and exhibit flame spread index values of less than 25 as measured under flame test procedure ASTM D3675-90.

A low viscosity, stable graft polymer dispersion is prepared by polymerizing in the presence of a free radical initiator, from about 25 to about 75 weight percent based on the total weight of the dispersion, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer or mixture of monomers, in a polyol mixture comprising (1) from about 25 to about 99 weight percent of a polyol containing from 2 to 8 hydroxyl groups and having an equivalent weight from 30 to about 200, (2) from about 1 to about 75 weight percent of a macromer containing induced unsaturation, said macromer comprising the reaction product of a polyether polyol having an equivalent weight from 100 to 10,000 with a compound having both ethylenic unsaturation and a group selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl, carboxyl, anhydride, isocyanate and epoxy or mixtures thereof. These graft polymer dispersions are useful for preparing polyurethane products.

These graft polymer dispersions are useful for preparing polyurethane products.
