A personal proximity alert device and associated behavior modification system configured to monitor and/or detect a hand of a user or another person or object penetrating a personal protection zone around the facial area of the user and to alert users to such detected risks and/or to the presence of others approaching within a predetermined minimum socially safe distance to reduce the likelihood of accidentally transmitting viruses or other pathogens.

Apparatus selectively attachable to the outer case of a cellular telephone or other similarly sized portable device. The apparatus desirably includes a housing containing an elastomeric band that is principally disposed inside the housing when the apparatus is not in use. The apparatus may include a kickstand and a cardholder. The elastomeric band can be used as a selectively retractable carrying strap when the cell phone or other similar device is not in use. Alternatively, the flexible continuous loop can be used, for example, to support the cell phone around a user's neck for hands-free use when the user is engaged in other activities.

Apparatus with self-retracting elastomeric support band

Apparatus selectively attachable to the outer case of a cellular telephone or other similarly sized portable device. The apparatus desirably includes a housing containing an elastomeric band that is principally disposed inside the housing when the apparatus is not in use. When the apparatus of the invention is attached to the outer case of a cell phone, a portion of the elastomeric band is manually withdrawn through an opening in the housing and can be releasably latched in place to form a flexible, continuous loop outside the housing. The flexible, continuous loop can be used as a selectively retractable carrying strap when the cell phone or other similar device is not in use. Alternatively, the flexible continuous loop can be used, for example, to support the cell phone around a user's neck for hands-free use when the user is engaged in other activities.

An operator training and maneuver refinement system and method that enhance the degree of control an operator is able to exercise over a controlled device such as an aircraft, vehicle, equipment or other device by sequentially providing and visually displaying to the operator a direct comparison of real-time input controller positions for at least one operating parameter with stored empirical input controller positions for the same or a similar operating parameter over a predetermined time interval, preferably also displaying the deviation between the real-time and stored empirical controller positions.

Operator training and maneuver refinement system for powered aircraft

A tool that is useful for cleaning and disinfecting the attachment surfaces of a fluid connector device used in medical applications, the tool having a housing with an opening of defined shape and a chemically treated flexible insert positionable inside the housing that substantially conforms to the inside wall of the housing and, when placed over the attachment surfaces of a fluid connector device, can be manipulated axially and rotationally relative to the attachment surfaces to contact, clean and disinfect the surfaces. Some embodiments can also be used for topical cleaning of skin or other surfaces.
