A damper system comprises a damper slide adapted to couple to a wall with a first outlet. In one embodiment, the damper slide has a first opening and is adapted to operate in a first position and a second position. In the first position, the first opening is at least partially aligned with the first outlet. The first opening and the first outlet are at least partially offset in the second position.

Low profile damper system for ovens

A damper system comprises a damper blade having open and closed states. The damper blade is movable in a linear direction only between the open and closed states. The damper blade may fully overlap with a flue passage in the closed state, and the damper blade may lack any overlap with the flue passage in the open state. A portion of the damper blade may directly contact a switch activation arm in the open state, wherein the switch activation arm confirms the open state of the damper blade.

Linear slide damper system

A damper mechanism for a gas-fired appliance is disclosed. The damper mechanism is mechanically operated in response to changes in pressure within a portion of the appliance. Changes in gas pressure operate to displace a diaphragm, thereby moving a linkage attached to a flue damper, such that the damper can be moved between open and closed positions. An interim damper control activation arm can pivot in response to movement of the linkage to actuate electrical switches, which act to close a magnetic pilot valve when the damper is in a partially-opened or partially-closed position.

Apparatus and method for controlling a damper in a gas-fired appliance

The combination of a vent assembly with a conduit assembly bounding a flow space into which discharged combustion gases are exhausted. The conduit assembly has a first conduit length in which: a) combustion gases are communicated in a first direction in a first path between the flue outlet and a vent outlet; and b) backflow is communicated in the first path in a direction opposite to the first direction. The conduit assembly has a draft control assembly, with a conduit portion defining a flow passage in which backflow is diverted out of the first path. The draft control assembly further has a flow guide assembly that intercepts and guidingly diverts the backflow into the conduit portion to be exhausted.

Vent assembly for combustion gases generated by an appliance

A direct sidewall vent system between a fuel-burning appliance in a first space and an external atmosphere, through a wall between the first space and external atmosphere. The direct sidewall vent system has a wall assembly that defines a first passage for communicating combustion gas generated through operation of the fuel-burning appliance to a first outlet through which the combustion gas is communicated to the external atmosphere. The wall assembly further defines a second passage for communicating makeup air from the external atmosphere to the fuel-burning appliance in the first space. The direct sidewall vent system further has an external portion that is situated within the external atmosphere and at which the first outlet is located. The external portion of the direct sidewall vent system has a top, a bottom, and spaced sides. The external portion of the direct sidewall vent system has a first inlet within the external atmosphere through which makeup air from the external atmosphere is communicated to the second passage. The first inlet is situated to draw makeup air from the external atmosphere primarily from a location above the first outlet.

Direct sidewall vent system

An apparatus that is rotatable around a first axis to propel an intercepted fluid in a radial direction. The apparatus has a support, a first blade assembly, and a second blade assembly. The first blade assembly has a first blade with a first substantially flat surface residing in a first plane that is substantially parallel to the first axis. The second blade assembly has second and third blades respectively having second and third substantially flat surfaces residing respectively in second and third planes, each extending substantially parallel to the first axis. A single piece defines at least a part of the second and third substantially flat surfaces. The second blade assembly is separate from the first blade assembly and joined to the support so that the blades cooperatively propel intercepted fluid in a radial direction.

Housing for an inline vent fan

A vent fan is for directing a fluid along a vent pipe. The vent fan has a housing defining an inlet, an outlet and an internal space for a fluid flow path. A separating wall divides the internal space into an inlet and outlet chamber. The vent fan also includes first and second baffles to block the fluid flow from traveling into the outlet and inlet chambers respectively. The separating wall may also include at least one fin for directing the fluid flow towards a first passageway.

A device for mounting a UV bulb includes a housing having a hole therein, a fixed bracket and an adjustable bracket, the fixed bracket is connected to the housing and the adjustable bracket is rotatably mounted to the side bracket, the adjustable bracket also has means for mounting a UV bulb such that when said UV bulb is mounted to the adjustable bracket, the bulb can be inserted through the hole in the housing and rotated through an arc of approximately 90 degrees.

Adjustable ultraviolet lamp mounting device

There is provided an improved ultraviolet lamp assembly using an ultraviolet lamp with a vented closed end quartz tube having improved and increased ultraviolet lamp intensity output for increased germicidal and bactericidal effect for use in purification, sterilizing, sanitizing and cleaning systems. The ultraviolet lamp assembly comprises an ultraviolet lamp, a tube operative to house the ultraviolet lamp and comprising a closed end, an open end able to allow insertion of said ultraviolet lamp and having a plurality of vents that allow air into and out of an air space between the ultraviolet lamp and the surrounding tube, a tube divider operatively disposed between said UV lamp and said tube to thereby divide said air space into at least two air space compartments enabling air to circulate through said tube, and an air displacer operatively connected to at least one of said vents and able to produce air flow in said tube.

Ultraviolet lamp assembly

There is provided a method and apparatus for an improved ultraviolet lamp assembly using an ultraviolet (UV) lamp with a sleeve having improved UV lamp temperature characteristics for improved UV lamp intensity output and germicidal affect. The ultraviolet lamp assembly comprises a UV lamp housed in a vented open end quartz sleeve in a portable air conditioning (AC) unit. The quartz sleeve comprises a distal sleeve open end and a proximal base open end through which a UV lamp is secured to the sleeve and AC unit. The proximal open end of the quartz sleeve comprises a plurality of venting slots that allow ambient air to travel into and out of the space between the UV lamp and the sleeve wall. Operation of the AC unit fan results in air flow into the sleeve at a proximal sleeve base end and out through the distal open end of the sleeve to thereby maintain the UV lamp at a desired temperature for improved germicidal affect.

The present invention discloses a motorized drive unit for operating a valve including a gear, a motor, a chain coupling the gear and motor, a housing encasing the motor, gear, and chain, and a rotation limiting piece. Additionally, the present invention discloses a method for mounting a gear to a gate valve handle by providing a gear and a mounting plate, positioning the mounting plate beneath the handle of the gate valve, positioning the gear above the handle of the gate valve, and coupling the mounting plate to the gear. Further, the present invention discloses a method for mounting a gear to a ball valve by providing a gear having a cutout portion, removing the handle from the ball valve stem, placing the second portion of the handle through the cutout portion of the gear, and coupling the handle and the gear to the stem.

An air intake assembly for a combustion oil burner, the assembly comprises a housing having a front wall, a back wall and a peripheral side wall between the front wall and the back wall, the housing defining an air intake chamber therein, the front wall having a partly circular air intake hole therein, an axle mounted to the housing between the front and the back walls, first, second and third rotatable vanes rotatably mounted to the axle and positioned adjacent to the air intake hole, the first rotatable vane is fixedly attached to the axle, and a mechanism mounted on the rotatable vanes for sequentially rotating the rotatable vanes whereby the air intake hole can be selectively opened from 0.degree. open where substantially no air can pass through the hole and into the air intake chamber, to approximately 270.degree. open where air can flow into the chamber.

Air intake assembly for a combustion fuel burner having an adjustable

A flow control has a rotary gate residing within an internal flow space in a conduit. The gate is mounted for movement relative to the conduit between first and second positions, the gate in the first and second positions accounting for a different flow rate between first and second fluid masses between which the gate resides. The gate has an actuator with a plurality of spaced shoulders. A flexible force-applying member is connected to the actuator and bears upon the shoulders to thereby urge the gate towards the other of the first and second positions. The shoulders are situated so that the number of shoulders engaged by the force-applying member at any one time is not the same as the gate moves from the one of the first and second positions towards the other of the first and second positions.
