A package and process of assembling a package adapted for housing an electronic component. The package includes metallic base, lid and leadframe components sealed together with a thermoplastic material. The thermoplastic has an additive consisting essentially of a metal deactivator and a primary antioxidant grafted thereto without cross linking so as to maintain the thermoplastic properties.

Disclosed are bis(4-oxyalkylated-2,6-dialkylphenol) adducts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid having the formula: ##STR1## wherein each R is a 2,6-dialkyl moiety having the formula: ##STR2## wherein each R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of branched alkyl groups having from about 4 to about 8 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a methyl group and ethyl group. These compounds are useful as stabilizers in organic materials against oxidative degradation.
