A DR detector is formed from a housing with a cover attached to the housing. Shaped gaps formed in the housing and/or cover include a bonding agent or adhesive therein to fix the cover to the housing. Other attachment means such as screws or pins may be used instead of, or in combination with, the bonding agent.

A digital radiographic detector includes a multi-layered core having integrated circuits generating heat within a housing of the detector. A thermally conductive component that is configured to provide a distinct function for the core is thermally coupled to the integrated circuits to also serve as a heat sink therefor.

Certain exemplary embodiments of securing methods and/or battery latch apparatus for the closable recess of the DR detector can include a first catch mechanism configured to be released by force applied in a first direction, a second catch mechanism released by force applied in a second direction different from the first direction, where movement in the first direction can operate to disengage the first catch mechanism from the second catch mechanism, where movement in the second direction can operate to disengage the second catch mechanism for access to the recess, where the second catch mechanism is nearby the first catch mechanism, and where the first and second catch mechanism are actuated using one hand of an operator.

Portable radiographic detector exterior battery latch and methods for using the same

A digital radiographic detector has a detector panel that forms digital image data according to radiation exposure energy. An enclosure houses the detector panel, formed from an electrically conductive material and having a base with an inner base surface and an outer base surface and having, along its perimeter, one or more side walls that extend orthogonally from the inner base surface. A base magnetic shield extends as a layer of nanocrystalline material across at least one of the inner base surface and the outer base surface. A cover is formed from a non-conductive material and has a cover magnetic shield of a layer of a metallic alloy bonded to an inner surface. A side wall magnetic shield extends along one or more surfaces of the one or more side walls, wherein the side wall magnetic shield has at least one of the nanocrystalline material or the metallic alloy.

A storage phosphor reader. The reader comprises a first roller pair, a cylindrical scan platen, a guide member, and a holding member. The first roller pair transport a storage phosphor medium along a path in a first direction. The cylindrical scan platen supports the medium as it is scanned by a scanner. The guide member is disposed intermediate the first roller pair and the scan platen for guiding the medium to the scan platen. The holding member is disposed downstream of the scan platen for contacting the medium after it is scanned.

Positional control of flexible storage phosphor media during image scan

A cassette handling apparatus of a storage phosphor reader, which is used for reading a latent image stored in a storage phosphor contained in a cassette. The cassette handling apparatus includes: a cassette platen and front plate for receiving a cassette having a storage phosphor; a cassette centering guide mechanism for centering a received cassette on the cassette platen; a cassette feed mechanism for moving a received cassette into contact with the front plate; and a storage phosphor feed mechanism for feeding a storage phosphor out of a received cassette into the storage phosphor reader for processing.

Cassette interface module

A laser printer characterized by compact construction, and by ease of servicing and film loading. A light-tight upper compartment contains a printer station which includes a film moving roller at one side of the apparatus, and toward which film is fed sideways from a registration station. The printer includes a laser and optics located above the alignment station. Various sizes of film are stored in respective magazines carried by stacked drawers located below the alignment station, and a transport mechanism located in front of the magazine withdraws film from the drawers and carries it upwardly and moves it into the alignment station by movement of the film toward the rear of the apparatus. Film moving from the printer station moves downwardly along one side of the machine into a chute and then to a roller device which can direct the exposed film either into a storage magazine under the fresh film magazines, or to an adjacent processor located to the side of the printer. Operating electronics are in a separate compartment below the light-tight compartment and are shielded to protect the upper compartment components from electronic emissions. A blower exhausts heat from the lower compartment.

A registration mechanism registers sheets of different sizes so the sheets are properly positioned as they enter an imaging station adjacent the mechanism. A fixed urging guide at one side of a platen urges sheets of the largest size toward a registration guide at another side of the platen for aligning the sheet relative to the guide. Other urging guides move through slots in the platen between a raised position relative to the platen, wherein they are effective to urge smaller sheets toward the registration guide, and a lowered position at or below the platen surface.

A head transport assembly includes a sled supporting a magnetic head for movement along a guide path generally oriented toward the drive spindle of a drive motor. The sled, which is supported against a guide rod defining the guide path, includes two adjustment points along the guide rod--a first adjustment point proximate the head and a second adjustment point outboard of the first in relation to the drive spindle. By acting on the first point to pivot the sled about the second point, the head is brought onto a true radial path intersecting the center of the drive spindle. The azimuth of the head is next adjusted by acting on the second point to pivot the sled about the first point until the desired azimuth angle is obtained.

Improved light reflector apparatus for use in an electronic flash unit or the like is formed by an injection molding operation, which causes both precise shaping of a reflector and accurate mounting of the reflector securely within a housing. A light-reflecting flexible sheet is placed in a mold so that its light-reflecting front surface is centrally positioned adjacent a mold forming surface. The forming surface, which is larger than the sheet, has a contour adapted for shaping the sheet to reflect light into a beam of illumination. Liquid plastic is injected into the mold under pressure against the opposite surface of the sheet, thus pressing its light-reflecting surface into intimate contact against the forming surface. Because the sheet is smaller, the border of the forming surface is not covered by the sheet. Plastic flows beyond outer edges of the sheet against the uncovered border of the forming surface. The intimate contact between the forming surface and the sheet blocks plastic from leaking therebetween onto the light-reflecting surface. The plastic solidifies to form a housing having a supporting body underlying the sheet and a shoulder, integral with the supporting body and contiguous with and surrounding outer edges of the sheet. The shoulder traps the sheet against the underlying supporting body for maintaining the contour of the sheet caused by the molding surface.

Light reflector apparatus and method of making

A camera includes (1) a socket for detachably receiving a flashbulb, (2) a flash sensing member for detecting the presence and absence of a flashbulb in the socket, (3) a diaphragm for adjusting an exposure aperture as a function of whether the ambient light is bright or dim, and (4) a photosensor, responsive to visible light and infrared (IR), for controlling an exposure in accordance with the total visible light and IR passing along a light path to energize the photosensor during an exposure interval. An IR-attenuating filter is mounted for movement between a normal first position in alignment with the light path for effectively blocking IR from impinging upon the photosensor, and an actuated second position outside the light path to enable IR to energize the photosensor. A filter moving member, controlled jointly by the diaphragm and the flash sensing member, enables the filter to be moved out of the photosensor's light path when a scene is to be photographed with flash light and the diaphragm is adjusted for an exposure in dim light, whereby IR influences the control of a flash exposure only when the exposure aperture size is adjusted for dim light.
