This invention relates to supported metallocene catalyst systems for polymerization, the catalyst systems comprising asymmetrically substituted indenyl groups, high surface area supports, and aluminoxane activators. This invention also relates to methods for polymerizing olefins, including methods for producing isotactic polypropylene.

This invention relates to high porosity (&#x2267;15%) and/or low pore diameter (PD&#x3c;165 &#x3bc;m) propylene polymers and propylene polymerization processes using single site catalyst systems with supports having high surface area (SA&#x2267;400 m/g), low pore volume (PV&#x2266;2 mL/g), a specific mean pore diameter range (PD=1-20 nm), and high average particle size (PS&#x2267;30 &#x3bc;m).

A method for forming a polymer catalyst includes reacting a bromoketone compound with an aryl amine compound to form an amide compound. Process of producing polyolefins using metallocene polymerization catalysts and copolymers therefrom

A method for protecting a phenol group on a precursor compound is provided. The method includes reacting the phenol group with dihydropyran in an acid catalyzed protection reaction and quenching the protection reaction with a strong base within less than about 60 seconds to form a protected precursor compound.

Methods for preparation of pyridylamines and their use in oligomerization reactions

The invention relates to olefin oligomerization methods and methods for reducing/inhibiting fouling in olefin oligomerization reactions comprising: contacting, in an oligomerization reactor (e.g., under oligomerization conditions), an alpha-olefin feed, a catalyst having an olefin selectivity of at least 90 mol % to a desired oligomerization product, a polymer anti-foulant, and optionally a diluent; selectively producing an effluent comprising the desired oligomerization product, unreacted olefin, and alpha-olefin-based polymer byproduct that causes fouling. The amount of polymer anti-foulant can be chosen to limit fouling to &#x2266;20 g/kg desired oligomerization product, to remediate &#x2267;3 grams fouled polymer/kg desired oligomerization product, and/or to reduce/inhibit polymer fouling by &#x2267;10% over a selective oligomerization with substantially no added polymer anti-foulant. Advantageously, desired oligomerization product so obtained can also be polymerized/copolymerized with an alpha-olefin such as ethylene.
