A follower for use in a variety of firearm magazines includes a follower body formed of a rigid material and having a bullet engaging surface that is contoured to position the bullets in the magazine so that they are efficiently stacked upon loading. The follower body further includes a rear leg that extends downward from a main generally horizontal surface and a slide lock shelf on one side. A flat follower spring is attached to a bottom of the follower body at one end and has a generally curved shape when in a relaxed state.

A flat spring for firearm magazines has a one-piece unitary body with end half-coils at opposite ends and interior coils in a repeating arrangement between the end half-coils. Each of the interior coils includes an upper half-coil and a lower half-coil, each extending between outer tips on opposite sides of the spring body. Increasing and staggering the half-coil lengths, adjusting the radii of the outer tips and shaped matching the end half-coils and upper and lower half-coils within the magazine housing all contribute to a flat magazine spring that uses all available space within a firearm magazine to effectively reduce the number of coils and material thickness so that the compressed spring height is at its absolute minimum, thereby allowing for maximum space for ammunition.

Described herein is a main board serial AT attachment (SATA) connector and SATA adapter that permits the assembly or disassembly of a STB (set-top box) and HDD (hard disk drive) dock without requiring that the unit be opened by a skilled technician. The SATA connector and SATA adapter may be keyed to prevent tampering or unauthorized connection of an external hard drive. Alignment and guide features may be included for easy assembly of the STB and HDD dock. The connector and adapter may be designed in such a way as to allow for simple modifications to correspond with various STB and HDD dock designs by adjusting the mating height of the connector and adapter.

A floor plate assembly for a firearm magazine for use in automatic and semi-automatic pistols and rifles is designed to occupy a minimal amount of space inside the magazine so that more magazine volume is available for bullets in a minimal magazine size. The magazine floor plate assembly includes a floor plate and a lock plate. The floor plate includes opposing lock plate guides that secure to the base flanges of a magazine housing. The lock plate acts as a spring for snap assembly and is inserted underneath the back edge of the magazine housing over the bottom inside surface of the floor plate, so that the lock plate covers the open magazine back side, while keeping the floor plate tight and without movement.

A firearm magazine follower for use in combination with a magazine tube includes an upper flange, a rear flange and a bottom flange formed from a single, flexible piece of material, such as steel. The upper flange extends from the rear flange and has a top side that is sized and configured for supporting a plurality of bullets thereon. The lower flange extends from the rear flange and has a distal end and a proximal end, and includes first and second surface members are separated lengthwise at a location between the proximal and distal ends of the lower flange. The first surface member is sized and configured for contacting a front inner facing wall of the magazine tube. The second surface member includes a raised flange at the distal end that is sized and configured for contacting and activating the slide lock lever of the magazine tube.

A compact firearm spring arrangement within a firearm magazine utilizes two or more springs connected in a linear arrangement by a connecting cup that allows one spring to compress within the other, thereby resulting in a free length spring system having a reduced height when fully compressed while maintaining sufficient force for operation of the firearm. The reduced height of the spring when fully compressed allows for additional bullet storage space within a magazine of standard size or, alternatively, a more compact system within a magazine that provides an equal amount of bullet storage space while reducing the friction of operation of the firearm.

A circuit for providing a sufficiently accurate clock signal for reconstruction of an image from a video signal can function with or without receiving an incoming video signal containing clock data. In this way, a clock signal for supporting an on-screen display can be created in the absence of an incoming video signal. Control data used to control a voltage controlled oscillator generating a clock signal is recorded when the control logic of the oscillator is locked to the timing data in an incoming video signal. In the absence of an incoming video signal, the recorded control data is retrieved and resubmitted to the control logic so that the oscillator can be made to output an appropriate clock signal even in the absence of an input video signal.

A circuit connected between an audio signal receiver and an audio output unit can prevent an audio pop from being emitted by a speaker associated with the audio output unit. The circuit interrupts the output of the signal receiver when the DC voltage level of the system suddenly changes, e.g. when a different audio signal is selected or when the receiver is powered on or off. The output of the receiver is shunted through a resistor to ground until a blocking capacitor between the receiver and audio output unit can charge to the new DC voltage level.
