A rotor blade with a leading edge and a trailing edge is provided, wherein the rotor blade is designed and configured for being exposed to a fluid flowing substantially from the leading edge to the trailing edge, the rotor blade includes at least two sensors designed for detecting flow characteristics of the fluid and providing respective sensor signals, and the rotor blade further includes at least two actuators for producing an anti-noise signal based on a sensor signal, the sensors are arranged spanwise and the actuators are arranged chordwise at the surface of the rotor blade, and the actuators are arranged and prepared such that flow-induced edge noise of the rotor blade, which is generated by the fluid, is at least partly cancelled out by the anti-noise signal. Also provided is a method for creating such rotor blade and a related wind turbine.

Rotor blade with noise reduction means

A rotor blade with a leading edge and a trailing edge is provided, wherein the rotor blade is for being exposed to a fluid flowing substantially from the leading edge to the trailing edge, the rotor blade includes at least three sensors designed for detecting flow characteristics of the fluid and providing respective sensor signals, wherein the sensors are arranged with a non-uniform spacing, and the rotor blade further includes at least one actuator for producing an anti-noise signal based on a sensor signal, the sensors and the actuator are arranged at the surface of the rotor blade, and the actuator is arranged and prepared such that flow-induced edge noise of the rotor blade, which is generated by the fluid, is at least partly cancelled out by the anti-noise signal. A method for creating such rotor blade and a related wind turbine is also provided.

Wind turbine comprising a tower () bearing a nacelle () and a rotor () with a plurality of rotor blades () and an active noise reduction device (), wherein the active noise reduction device () comprises at least one actuator (), at least one unsteady pressure sensor () adapted to produce an output signal corresponding to a turbulent flow condition during operation of the rotor blade (), at least one noise sensor () adapted to produce an output signal corresponding to a noise generated by the rotor blade () at the location of the noise sensor (), and a control unit (), wherein the unsteady pressure sensor () and the actuator () are arranged on at least one of the rotor blades () and the noise sensor () is arranged at the nacelle () and/or at the tower (), wherein the control unit () is adapted to control the actuator () in dependence of the output signals of the unsteady pressure sensor () and the noise sensor () to emit an anti-noise signal at least partly reducing the noise generated by the rotor blade ().

A sensor device for measuring flow-separation on an aerodynamic element, including a number of compliant elements with aerodynamic and/or structural properties designed to allow flow-induced vibrational motion in an air current and a sensor-element designed to measure vibrations of the number of compliant elements is provided. Further provided is an aerodynamic element, e.g. a wind turbine blade or an airfoil, with such sensor device, a method for controlling the angle of attack of an aerodynamic element, a controlling device and a wind turbine.

Provided is a noise reduction means for a wind turbine blade comprising an active noise reduction device and a passive noise reduction device, wherein the passive noise reduction device comprises at least one serrated edge profile adapted for fixation to a trailing edge of the wind turbine blade, wherein the active noise reduction device comprises at least one unsteady pressure sensor adapted to produce an output signal corresponding to a turbulent flow condition during operation of the wind turbine blade, at least one actuator and a control unit, wherein the sensor is arranged adjacent to a serrated edge of the serrated edge profile and the control unit is adapted to control the actuator in dependence of the output signal of the sensor to emit an anti-noise signal at least partly reducing the noise generated by the wind turbine blade.
