One embodiment includes a clock distribution system. The system includes a standing-wave resonator configured to receive and to resonate a sinusoidal clock signal. The standing-wave resonator includes at least one anti-node portion associated with a peak current amplitude of the sinusoidal clock signal. The system also includes at least one clock line interconnecting each of the at least one anti-node portion and an associated circuit. The at least one clock line can be configured to propagate the sinusoidal clock signal for timing functions associated with the associated circuit.

Clock distribution system

One example includes an RQL circuit simulation system. The system includes a circuit design tool that facilitates user inputs to design an RQL circuit design comprising at least one predetermined RQL circuit design component. The system also includes a memory system that stores the RQL circuit design and an RQL component library comprising predetermined RQL circuit design components from which the at least one predetermined RQL circuit design component is selected. Each of the predetermined RQL circuit design components includes predetermined RQL component metrics associated with performance of the respective one of the predetermined RQL circuit design components. The system also includes a circuit simulator configured to compile performance metrics associated with the RQL circuit design based on the predetermined RQL component metrics associated with the respective at least one of the predetermined RQL circuit design components and to simulate the RQL circuit design based on the performance metrics.

Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL) circuit simulation system

One embodiment describes a reciprocal quantum logic (RQL) receiver system. The RQL system is configured to convert a serial input data stream provided from a serial data transmitter into an RQL data stream. The RQL receiver system includes a sampling controller configured to oversample the serial input data stream via a plurality of samples over each sampling window of an RQL clock signal to determine a transition sample corresponding to a transition in a digital value of the serial input data stream in a given one sampling window of the RQL clock signal. The RQL receiver system can be further configured to capture the digital value of the serial input data stream via a capture sample that is a predetermined number of samples subsequent to the transition sample in each sampling window of the RQL clock signal.

Reciprocal quantum logic (RQL) serial data receiver system

Embodiments described herein are directed to mixed-radix carry-lookahead adders and methods performed thereby. The mixed-radix carry-lookahead adder includes an multiple carry-lookahead stages, where each stage may be of a different radix. Each stage operates on input bits, creating and implementing propagate and generate signals for each bit. The carry-lookahead stages also compute an XOR of the inputs that is forwarded to a final carry-lookahead stage. The elements of the initial and subsequent carry-lookahead stages are arranged such that each of the propagate and generate output signals passes through a minimal number of passive transmission lines. The final stage of the mixed-radix carry-lookahead adder includes an XOR logic gate configured to receive the generate output from an intermediate carry-lookahead stage and XOR the generate output received from the intermediate carry-lookahead stage with the computed XOR signal forwarded from the initial carry-lookahead stage to produce a sum of the input bits.

One embodiment of the invention includes a method for generating a Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL) circuit design via a synthesis tool. The method includes providing data associated with behavior and constraints of the RQL circuit design and a component library to the synthesis tool. The method also includes generating an RQL netlist circuit comprising a flip-flop device placeholder and a circuit system coupled to at least one of an input and an output of the flip-flop device placeholder via the synthesis tool based on the data and a component library. The method also includes separating the circuit system into circuit subsystems that are each associated with a separate respective phase of a clock signal via the synthesis tool based on inputs. The method further includes removing the flip-flop device placeholder from the RQL netlist circuit via the synthesis tool to generate the RQL circuit design from the RQL netlist circuit.

An isochronous receiver system is provided and includes a single flux quantum (SFQ) receiver to receive a data signal from a transmission line. The single flux quantum receiver then converts the data signal to an SFQ signal. The system also includes a converter system to convert the SFQ signal to a reciprocal quantum logic (RQL) signal and to phase-align the RQL signal with a sampling phase of an AC clock signal.

The system includes an array controller that comprises a plurality of flux pumps configured to provide write currents in a write operation and read currents in a read operation with respect to a plurality of quantum memory cells, the array controller being configured to control timing associated with the write operation and the read operation in response to memory request signals based on application of the write currents and the read currents and based on recharging flux associated with the plurality of flux pumps.

A device including an array of superconducting logic cells, where each of the superconducting logic cells is configured to receive at least one input and provide at least one output, is provided. Each of the superconducting logic cells includes at least one Josephson junction, whose state changes based on at least a biasing condition caused by a phase of a first clock or a phase of a second clock. One example includes a superconducting circuit. The circuit includes a plurality of layers comprising a first conductor layer and a second conductor layer overlying the first conductor layer, each of the first and second conductor layers comprising at least one signal element. The circuit also includes a ground grid that is conductively coupled to ground and comprises a first plurality of parallel ground lines that occupy the first conductor layer and extend in a first direction and a second plurality of parallel ground lines that occupy the second conductor layer and extend in a second direction that is orthogonal with respect to the first direction.

One embodiment describes a quantum memory system. The system includes a plurality of quantum memory cells arranged in an array of rows and columns. Each of the plurality of quantum memory cells can be configured to store a binary logic state in response to write currents in a write operation and configured to provide an indication of the binary logic state in response to read currents in a read operation. The system also includes an array controller comprising a plurality of flux pumps configured to provide the write currents and the read currents with respect to the rows and columns. The array controller can be configured to control timing associated with the write operation and the read operation in response to memory request signals based on application of the write currents and the read currents and based on recharging flux associated with the plurality of flux pumps.
