Compositions and processes disclosed herein permanent wave keratin fibers and/or human hair for achieving durable waves. The keratin fibers and/or human hair are treated with a reducing composition, a non-reducing and non-oxidizing composition comprising tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane, optionally a non-reducing and non-oxidizing acidic composition. Subsequently, the keratin fibers and/or human hair are treated with an oxidizing composition wherein after processing the reducing composition is rinsed off the keratin fibers and/or human hair.

Process for permanent waving keratin fibers

A composition having a pH in a range of 1 to 6, containing hydrogen peroxide, and one or more compounds selected from orthodiphenols, imidazolidin-2,4-diones, and salts thereof. A method for dyeing keratin fibers, including mixing an aqueous dyeing composition containing a dye compound which is an anionic azo dye, a non-ionic azo dye, a salt thereof, or a mixture thereof, and an alkalizing agent having at least one basic functional group whose conjugated acid has a pKa value in a range of 6.0 to 8.0, with a second aqueous composition having a pH in a range of 1 to 6 to yield a ready-to-use composition having a pH in a range of 7 to 12. The method further includes applying the ready-to-use composition onto the keratin fibers and leaving it for a time period in a range of 1 min to 60 min, and rinsing-off the keratin fibers. Processes and kits-of-parts reshape keratin fibers by applying a composition onto hair and covering the hair, wherein the composition comprises ammonia and one or more organic alkalizing agents. Additionally, the hair is put under tension using a curler with covering the curler with a moisture barrier, and heating the keratin fibers. As a result, long-lasting curl having cosmetic properties are achievable and an ammonia smell is reduced when directly compared to compositions having no organic alkalizing agent.

The present invention relates to a process for semi-permanent straightening and permanent shaping hair, especially human hair, for improved and milder semi-permanent straightening and permanent shaping. It is found out that when commonly used permanent shaping reducing composition is mixed with another composition comprising predominantly carboxylic acids, the permanent shaping effect of the composition is improved, homogeneous shaping of hair fibers is achieved and natural cosmetic properties of hair is maintained and hair may be semi-permanently straightened before such process.
