A reactor system and method for catalytic dehydrogenation of saturated C3-C6 hydrocarbons within a reactor placed within a reactor disengager, where the reactor is open at the bottom thereof and open to the disengager, and the exit riser from the reactor is not hard coupled to at least one downstream cyclone. This configuration permits controlling the amount of catalyst within the reactor by varying the level of catalyst in the reactor disengager outside the reactor and permits controlling total catalyst hold-up and/or weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) independently from catalyst flow from the catalyst regenerator.

Reactor system for saturated C3-C6 hydrocarbon dehydrogenation

Systems and methods for injecting gas into a fluidized bed of particles are provided. The system can include a gas distribution system. The gas distribution system can include a header having a flow passage and a nozzle body coupled to the header. The nozzle body can have an inlet end in fluid communication with the flow passage and an outlet end positioned outside of the header. The nozzle body can have a longitudinal axis that is substantially perpendicular to a direction of flow through the flow passage. The nozzle body can have an orifice positioned between the inlet end and the outlet end.

Apparatus and method are provided for separating and stripping suspensions comprising catalyst particles transported in vapors from the fluid catalytic cracking riser/reactor. Particles are disentrained from vapor in a vortex zoneof the primary cyclonic separator. The disentrained particles enter a stripping zone, wherein the particles are contacted with a stripping gasto recover vapors entrained and adsorbed onto the catalyst. The stripping gasenters stripping zonevia perforations in the wall of the cyclone. The stripping gaslimits the residual catalytic conversion of hydrocarbon vapors and formation of delta-coke on the catalyst. Stripped catalyst is delivered from the cyclone stripping zonevia a diplegconnected to a bottom of the cyclone, and enters an FCC stripping vessel. Solids-lean stripping gas and vapors from the catalyst particles are blended with the carrier fluid and discharged from the cyclone.
